US citizens detained by ICE…

06/02/2026

A lawful permanent resident who has lived in the United States for more than five decades is being held by ICE despite her longstanding ties to the country.

Rosalba “Rose” Chiaromonte, the wife of a Gulf War veteran who is classified as fully disabled, has reportedly served as his primary caregiver for over 30 years. The family also includes a son who served in the U.S. Marine Corps, completed two deployments to Iraq, and earned two Purple Heart medals.

According to reports, Chiaromonte suffers from diabetes and alleges that she has not been receiving necessary medical treatment while in detention, resulting in frequent illness. She has expressed concerns about the impact detention is having on her health.

ICE has indicated that the detention is connected to criminal allegations dating back more than a decade. Critics point out that her lawful permanent resident status was renewed in 2017.

She is currently being held at a detention facility approximately 300 miles from her husband and children, who remain in the Charleston, South Carolina area.

Rodney Taylor came to the United States from Liberia when he was only 2 years old for medical treatment. He is a husband, father, barber, and a double amputee.

ICE detained him for more than a year inside Stewart Detention Center in Georgia — despite his severe medical condition and despite reports that he was suffering serious medical neglect in detention.

According to advocates and lawmakers, Rodney struggled to access proper prosthetic care, medical treatment, and even basic accommodations while detained. Members of Congress publicly asked ICE to review his detention and release him because of the humanitarian concerns surrounding his case. (Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal)

His story became national news not only because of immigration law, but because it raised difficult questions about how medically vulnerable detainees are treated in immigration custody.

Cases like this remind people that immigration detention is not just about laws and paperwork — there are real human beings and families behind these cases.

8 — Deportation Order

A deportation order means an Immigration Judge officially ordered someone removed from the United States.

And yes — this can affect future visas, green cards, and even returning to the U.S. for years.

But in some cases, there may still be legal options available. Understanding your immigration history matters.

Why do businesses hire immigrants?”

Because nobody works harder. 💀

Former ICE supervisor Koby Don Williams was sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison after being convicted in a child exploitation sting operation involving who he believed was a 13-year-old girl.

This case is a reminder that accountability must apply to everyone — regardless of title or badge.

A MAN RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR ICE AND DHS WAS ARRESTED IN A S*X CRIME STING.

According to reports from Minnesota, Brashad Johnson — who allegedly worked conducting background investigations connected to ICE, DHS, and other federal agencies — was arrested during a prostitution and s*x trafficking sting operation. (FOX 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul)

Police officials described the arrest as one of the “most disturbing” because of the level of access and trust connected to his position. (The Daily Beast)

Another separate case involved an ICE employee later federally indicted after allegedly attempting to solicit a minor during an undercover operation in Minnesota. (FOX 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul)

And in another federal case, a Homeland Security Investigations special agent was charged with production of child s*xual abuse material involving a minor victim. (Department of Justice)

These cases have raised serious national concerns about:
• vetting of federal officers and contractors
• abuse of authority
• accountability inside immigration enforcement agencies
• the risks of rapidly expanding enforcement operations without proper oversight

No agency is immune from misconduct.

And wearing a badge does not place someone above the law.

At the same time, accusations are not convictions, and every criminal case must still go through the court process.

A U.S. CITIZEN WAS DETAINED BY ICE.

The case of Javier Ramirez sparked national attention after a U.S. citizen was detained during an immigration operation in California.

According to reports and videos released:
• he repeatedly stated he was a U.S. citizen
• he allegedly showed identification
• he was still taken into custody

The government later claimed the detention was related to alleged interference with the operation — not his immigration status.

But the case raised serious concerns about:
• racial profiling
• abuse of authority
• wrongful detention
• constitutional rights during ICE operations

Many people believe only undocumented immigrants can be affected during immigration enforcement actions.

The reality is more complicated.

Even U.S. citizens can sometimes be temporarily detained during large-scale federal operations or chaotic enforcement situations.

That is why it is important to:• know your rights• keep documents accessible• have emergency contacts available• avoid physical confrontation during encounters with officers
