It is with a heavy hand and heart I sit to write this. I am closing VanClan Sound. I have been dealing with a lot of physical pain and it will no longer take a back seat to my adventures in life. Doing sound is moving a lot of equipment in a short time for some not forgiving people, that’s the job. When I built VanClan Sound I knew this day would come and was hoping to get a few more years at it then I have. But at some point the pain is just not worth it. I can’t lift heavy loads anymore without resulting pain afterwards or hand cramps. I have been masking these over the last couple of years and it has really worn me down. Only those close to me know some of my struggles (and yes my doctors know all too well). On advice from my family I am quitting my business VanClan Sound. I will be doing some sound for good friends and some non-profits over time. But the days are over for me in the official sound business. I will truly miss it. Thanks to all that have supported me over the years, it was a great run.
