Endorsements don't vote—the people of Taos do.

After 24 years managing this town's finances and earning national recognition for our fiscal management, I'm running on my record, not political backing.

This race is about who can deliver results for Taos: fair fire service funding, infrastructure solutions, and transparent leadership.

I've spent 40 years serving this community, and I'm not going down without a fight. I'm ready to earn every single vote.

Proud to share this post from Taos MainStreet!

As your mayoral candidate, I’ve made it a priority to show up, listen, and take part in efforts that bring our community together. For the past several weeks, I’ve joined 8 of the 14 Meet Me at McCarthy walks, connecting with neighbors and supporting the revitalization of our plaza and historic district. Along the way, I’ve met incredible people who care deeply about Taos—and I was even lucky enough to win a beautiful Charles Collins print in the raffle!

The MainStreet program is proof of what we can accomplish when partnerships between our town, the state, and our community come together. With leadership that prioritizes collaboration, Taos can continue to thrive.

Let’s keep walking forward—together.

Today, on the 24th anniversary of September 11th, I stand with our brave Taos professional firefighters to honor the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost that day.

Thank you to Taos Fire Rescue, Taos Police Department, and Taos Municipal Schools for today's meaningful remembrance.

Our first responders run toward danger when others run away – just as those heroes did 24 years ago. The courage, sacrifice, and selfless service of our firefighters and police embody the very best of America.

Public safety is my number 1 priority and, I will keep this momentum going! We will never forget their sacrifice, and we will always support those who dedicate their lives to protecting our community.

Making it official! Just filed my paperwork to run for Mayor of the Town of Taos!

Today, I registered with the Bureau of Elections with Taos County Clerk Valerie Montoya. After 40+ years serving our community, I'm excited to bring my experience as Finance Director and Councilor to the Mayor's office.

What drives me: Building a stronger, safer Taos for everyone.

My focus:

Public Safety & Infrastructure - Fair funding for our fire services that protect 70% of the county, plus regional cost-sharing for water/wastewater systems that serve beyond our borders.

Youth & Community - Safe, modern recreation facilities and transparent governance that earned Taos multiple Budget Awards during my tenure as Finance Director.

I'm passionate about this community and ready to get to work. Vote Marietta for Mayor - Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th.

What issues matter most to you? Let's keep building the Taos we all deserve!

Thank you, Senator Ben Ray Luján, for coming to Taos and speaking directly with our community about the devastating Trump budget cuts.

As you heard from Taoseños tonight, Medicaid cuts will directly threaten our Holy Cross Hospital, where 50% of patients rely on Medicaid and which serves all of northern New Mexico. Statewide, 6-8 rural hospitals could close in the next two years.

The SNAP cuts will increase hunger for the 23% of New Mexicans who rely on food assistance. And our outdoor recreation economy—$3.2 billion statewide—depends on public lands that make up nearly a third of New Mexico. Federal workers who manage permits and trails are already being laid off, hurting the local businesses that depend on them.

Thank you for fighting for Taos in Washington. We need leaders who understand what's at stake.

What a wonderful weekend we just had in Taos! 🎉

Las Fiestas de Taos returned in full spirit, beginning with the beautiful Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, the procession through town, the incredible food and music at Kit Carson Park, and the parades—where I was honored to take part alongside my family, friends, and supporters.

On Saturday, I walked in the children’s parade with my two daughters, Monica and Sue, and my sweet grandchildren, Beau and Theo. Then on Sunday, we joined the main parade, and it was heartwarming to see so many locals and visitors out enjoying themselves. After the challenges of COVID and road construction on Highway 68, this year’s parades felt especially meaningful.

I have such fond memories of riding the Tio Vivo as a child during Fiesta, and now, to watch my grandchildren enjoy the same tradition 50 years later, reminds me how important it is to preserve and honor what makes Taos so special.

Thank you to my family, our campaign team, and everyone who came out to celebrate our culture, history, and community. Together, we can build a future for Taos that honors our traditions while moving us forward.

Friends and neighbors of Taos,

I'm excited to officially announce my candidacy for Mayor of our beautiful town! After serving as your Town Councilor and working for Taos for over 24 years as Finance Director and grant coordinator, I'm ready to bring my experience to the mayor's office.
Taos has been my home for 63 years. I've raised my family here, run a small business, and dedicated my life to this community. I understand what our town has been, what we are now, and where we need to go.

As mayor, I'll focus on our most pressing challenges: affordable housing, upgrading our aging wastewater infrastructure, and addressing the high turnover of town staff. I'm committed to recruiting, training, and retaining qualified personnel to ensure our town services remain timely, effective, and responsive to your needs.

I've seen many mayors come and go, and many projects succeed and fail. This experience gives me the knowledge and perspective to lead Taos forward with practical solutions and a deep commitment to our community's wellbeing.

The election is November 4th, and I would be honored to have your support. Together, we can build a brighter future for the town we all love!
