This Robin Collier, manager of KCEI. In a major attack on public radio, Congress and Trump have cut off funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).
This won’t hit CPB stations like KRZA until October, but will be huge. KCEI will not be affected, since we do not get CPB funding, because NPR has controlled the rules to prevent new stations like KCEI from getting CPB funding and competing with existing NPR stations. While we feel CPB should have stopped accepting federal funding years ago, to be more independent, there is value in having diverse news from NPR, Pacifica and BBC news in our listening area.
So please donate to all public radio stations, including KCEI, KRZA, KSFR, KUNM, KANW, KLDK & more. To donate to KCEI on-line go to culturalenergy.org, to donate by phone call 575-758-9791 or mail a check to KCEI 112 Civic Plaza Drive, Taos, NM 87571. Or stop by Monday July 21st when we will be tabling at Cids. Thanks to all who donate to public broadcasting .

KCEI keeps going off the air, so I really needs to borrow a AWD car or 4WD truck to drive up San Antonio mountain to work on problems with our transmitter. Miguel's trucks is disabled so I can't borrow it. Call me at 575-758-9791 or 575-779-1636 if you can help.

This is Robin Collier, president of Cultural Energy. We now need your help to grow a 2nd fm station at 89.5 and channel 18 public TV. We have to raise significant funds to make this possible. We are beginning a mini pledge drive to raise an initial $25,000. We invite you to record testimonials on why the station is important to you, and why listeners should support us. So please call us at 575-758-9791 how you could record it yourself or to arrange a time to come in and record it at the station. And help us begin the pledge drive by making a tax deductible donation by going to culturalenergy.org to donate on-line, donate by phone at 575-758-9791 or mail a check to KCEI 112 Civic Plaza Drive, Taos, NM 87571. Thanks to everyone who has donated, we really appreciate it.

KCEI 90.1 was knocked of the air several times over the week of May 5th. This was caused at first by Kit Carson Electric outages and then by overheating of equipment when fans didn't run because of damage from the outages. We have now added an air conditioner, which hopefully will keep things cool. Stream here https://stream.pacificaservice.org:9000/kcei_128

This is Robin Collier, President of Cultural Energy. On April 7, we won a major victory in our quiet-title suit on Picuris peak to allow us to expand our coverage with 89.5 FM and Channel 18 public TV. This had been opposed by NM Legal Aid and the UNM Land Grants Council, claiming that one couldn’t quiet title in the La Serna land grant since it was a political subdivision of the state of New Mexico. Our excellent attorney had responded showing numerous successful quiet title suits in land grants that were political subdivisions. NM District Court Judge Chavez dismissed their claim without a hearing, stating that the Land Grant’s claim would potentially leave thousands of individuals residing within land grant mercedes throughout NM without legal recourse to perfect their title. We still need our listeners donations to support our law suit to resolve other conflicting claims to our land on Picuris, were land title is extremely confusing. Thanks to all of you who have donated, we really appreciate you. Go to https://www.culturalenergy.org/join.htm to donate.
