“I feel our team met our expectations because being a member of Quaker Valley soccer means that the goal is to always be the best in everything we do,” said Sutton Hoehl, a senior forward. “We were happy to win the section because that is what we as players and our coach expects from us year in and year out.”

The fleet-footed QV junior crossed the finish line in 15:26.9 at Brush Creek Park to defeat runner-up Lucas Bleakney of Ellwood City with his 16:27.8 showing.

“Jonah’s race was incredible from start to finish,” QV coach Ryan Kelly said. “He took command early, ran confidently and maintained an aggressive but controlled pace throughout.

QV’s veteran coach Kevin Quinn was beaming over the quick start thanks in large part to Lorang’s performance.

“Ian’s been stellar,” Quinn said. “He is a top goalie in the league, and we expect to do well because of it. He has been so solid back there, and his confidence has grown every year."

The senior goalkeeper didn’t let even one slip past him while playing the full 102 minutes against the Bulldogs and Spartans.
