Warm today with showers/storms in the afternoon/evening, even warmer tomorrow with near zero rain chances.

🌙⛈️ Forecast update through tonight:

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will move into portions of southeast New Mexico and potentially into areas west of the Pecos River (including the Guadalupe and Davis Mountains and Van Horn Corridor areas) this evening into late tonight. A few storms could produce frequent lightning strikes, gusty winds, and brief heavy rainfall over these locations. Dry weather is anticipated across the Permian Basin and into the Lower Trans Pecos and southern Big Bend region.

Skies will otherwise remain partly to mostly cloudy across the region. Overnight lows will range in the 60s over most locations.

More rain chances will be in store for areas across southeast New Mexico and the higher terrain this afternoon and evening. When thunder roars, go indoors!

Well, summer-like temperatures are not quite done with us yet...

Looking ahead, a warm-up this weekend will yield temperatures in the low-to-mid 90s for most of the area by Sunday. Meanwhile, weekend rain chances remain low (10-20%).

Tuesday looks to stay warm and dry for most. Areas near the mountains may see a storm or two during the afternoon.

Seasonable temperatures remain in the forecast with afternoon highs in the upper 80s to low 90s for most. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon across the western higher terrain. The best (30-50%) chances are expected to be in and near the Davis Mountains.
