Hi Facebook friends! Don't forget, today is the last Sunday of the year... a good day to reflect upon the Goals for the coming year! 🥳

- Today is NATIONAL SHORT FILM DAY! "The birth of the motion picture industry is celebrated on National Short Film Day on December 28. In particular, this holiday commemorates the event when a public audience viewed a series of short films for the first time ever. Since then, people have experienced love, tragedy, and drama through movies. Accessible to all, and the best in visual entertainment, movies allow viewers to live vicariously through different characters and stories."

- Today is NATIONAL CALL A FRIEND DAY! "Sure, friends might text each other or send an email, but there is nothing quite like a phone call and hearing each other’s voice to help two people feel connected. National Call a Friend Day is the time to show appreciation and care for a friend.

Welcome to the weekend, the Holiday Weekend! Let's see what else we can celebrate today...

- Today is THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF EPIDEMIC PREPAREDNESS! " The International Day of Epidemic Preparedness reminds us that health threats can strike without warning. This global observance urges everyone—governments, communities, and individuals—to stay alert and ready. It highlights the need for strong health systems, early detection tools, and clear communication. These elements help stop outbreaks before they spread. The day also encourages sharing knowledge and resources across borders to protect people everywhere."

- Today is NATIONAL FRUITCAKE DAY! "Made with chopped candied or dried fruit, nuts, and spices and sometimes soaked in spirits, fruitcake has been a holiday gift-giving tradition for many years. Dating back to ancient Rome, one of the earliest known recipes lists pomegranate seeds, pine nuts, and raisins mixed into barley mash. Records indicate that in the Middle Ages, makers added honey, spices, and preserved fruits. Recipes for fruitcakes vary from country to country, depending on available ingredients and tradition."

Congratulations, you made it past the big day PLUS it's Friday! 🥳
What could possibly make this day sweeter...

- Today is the start of KWANZAA! "Heri Za Kwanzaa! Kwanzaa, celebrated from December 26 to January 1, is an African American and pan-African seven-day cultural holiday that celebrates family and community. During the holiday, families celebrate with feasts, music, and dance, and end the holiday with a day dedicated to reflection and recommitment to the seven principles."

- Today is NATIONAL WHINERS DAY! "As the year starts to wind down, National Whiners Day on December 26th allows an opportunity to complain about just roughly anything. If you want, you are allowed to whine about being too tired, or overeating. Maybe you want to whine about having to go back to work or all the cleaning up you have to do. Are the lines long in the return aisle at the store? You can whine about that, too. The possibilities are endless."

Welcome to Monday, the second to the last one of this year. We hope that your week is safe, special and memorable! 😎

- Today is FOREFATHERS DAY! "Every year, the anniversary of the first pilgrims landing on the shores of North America is observed on Forefathers’ Day on December 22 (unless it occurs on a Sunday, in which case Forefathers’ Day is celebrated on December 23). Although the forefathers landed in America on December 21, the anniversary was accidentally marked as December 22 when the Gregorian calendar was adopted. It is definitely worth celebrating the journey of the first pilgrims who sailed across the ocean in search of a better life and ultimately launched one of the superpower countries of the world. Few things are more important to Americans than heritage. Remembering where you come from, and how hard you’ve worked to get where you are, are all integral parts of the concept of the American dream.

- Today is NATIONAL SHORT PERSON DAY! "Short people have obviously been around forever, but the classification of short differs depending on time period and nationality. In America, the average height for a woman is considered 5 feet 5 inches, while the average height for men is 5 feet 10 inches. In comparison, the average female height in China is 5 feet 2 inches and the average male height is 5 feet 6 inches. Therefore a man who might be considered short in America can be considered tall in China, meaning that tallness and shortness is all relative. But, if you’re short in your country, don’t be afraid to own it. This day is for you!"
