⚠️ Road Closure ⚠️

She has been released!

Amanda and Jonathan will leave Richmond, VA, tomorrow morning, headed back to Taylorsville.

Dr. Kahn's instructions were clear. The trip needs to be spread out over several days because traveling will be hard on her incision. Amanda has to wear a stomach binder (which she already has) while she's traveling.

Dr. Kahn stated that she needed a doctor whom she trusted in Mississippi to follow her care.

There is still one spot at the top of her incision that hasn't healed or closed. She needs to keep it clean and covered. She was assured there is no infection.

Prayers are needed for safe travels, healing of her incision, guidance for her doctor, continued pain-free days, and for God to surround Amanda with His arms and keep her safe.

Today has been a good day in Room 407 of The Doorways in Richmond, VA!

Discontinuing the Viokace medication stopped the severe pain Amanda was experiencing. She was able to spend the day working on the newspaper.

She and Jonathan celebrated a pain-free day by having sushi for dinner, which is a favorite for both.

Please continue praying for our Newspaper woman that this patch of rough road is behind her.

Amanda discussed with Dr. Kahn the pain caused by Viokace, and he told her to stop taking the medication. She will meet with him on Friday at her regularly scheduled appointment.

Discontinuing the Viokace was the highlight of her day. Her pain medication is controlling any pain from her pancreas.

When we talked, she had just returned from the grocery store (on her scooter) and was cooking dinner for Jonathan and herself in one of the community kitchens at The Doorways.

Thank you for your prayers; they're being answered.

Amanda has had a rough day, and she requested that I not do an update until after she meets with Dr Kahn tomorrow morning to
address the uncontrollable pain caused by the Viokace.

It goes without saying to keep Amanda in your prayers.

Amanda began taking her Viokace medication on Thursday night. Dr. Kahn prescribed two tablets, each containing 20,880 units, to be taken with meals and one with snacks. The maximum dosage of Viokace is 20,880 units.

On Friday, she started her second day of Viokace, and the pain began. By tonight, her pain was so severe that the pain medication couldn't control it.

She and Jonathan went for a walk in the afternoon, with her on her scooter, to try to reduce the pain and distract her mind.

By 10:00 E.T., her pain had begun to lessen. She was waiting for her 10:30 pain medications and was praying for a pain-free night's sleep.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers. Pray specifically that her pain isn't so severe from the Viokace dosage and that her pain medication controls the pain.

We're providing an early update because we might have some good news!

Amanda met with Dr. Khan this morning for her regularly scheduled appointment. If her incision continues to heal well and without issues, he will see her again next Friday, and she might be released to go home! She is one excited patient!

Once she returns home, she will contact Dr.Adams at the University of South Alabama Medical Center to set up an appointment with him. This will initiate the process to get a referral to a Hepatologist for discussions about the need for a pancreas and liver transplant.

Amanda received a directive this morning that she says she's never heard before. She needs to stop losing weight and start gaining..

Prayers are being answered. Her incision is healing. Now, our prayers can focus on getting her home. Thank you for lifting her up.

Do you know how many NO NAMES exist from 9/11?

It's been 24 years, and 1,100 victims of the tragedy of 9/11 remain unidentified, although scientists continue to test.

Scientists test and retest as technology evolves. If more familial DNA were submitted, it's possible that more victims could be identified.

Just this past August, 2025, the remains of three more victims were identified.

The goal is to identify all 1,100 victims who remain with "No Name."
