WFDU's Stu Robins Septoff is interviewing Jim Saturday night on WFDU, 89.1 FM (in NJ), and online at wftu.fm.

Stu wrote something to both promote the interview, and the band's Monday, March 18 show at Yardbirds at City Winery New York NY!

Some rock bands appear and then, disappear in a flash! Then, there are the Elite! The Cream of the crop…the ones that leave giant footprints up and down the musical spectrum. Take 3 of music’s guitar phenomenons, mix in a great innovative drummer/songwriter and several more super-competent musicians and you have the makings of 50+ years of great rock and roll. Their name: The Yardbirds.

On Monday, March 18, Jim McCarty steps out of his role as drummer for the Yardbirds and brings his current band to the City Winery in New York City, performing songs from the old days and up to and including his latest album “Walking In The Wild Land.”

It’s been a long time since Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page took command of the guitar duties for the Yardbirds. But, don’t be surprised if you hear a little bit of everything ranging from those good old days to McCarty solo to Renaissance. Yes, he started that band with Keith Relf also.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We are also offering up a fascinating radio interview as Jim speaks with Morning Dew nighttime disk jockey, Stu Robins Septoff to be broadcast in the ten o’clock hour on Saturday night, March 16, on 89.1 FM WFDU out of Teaneck NJ. We promise to pepper you some great songs also. So, whether you are going to the show at the City Winery on the 18th or staying home and listening to Stu and Jim, this promises to grab you and throw you back to the good old days. Morning Dew, heard exclusively at 89.1 on your FM dial. WFDU FM The voice of Fairleigh Dickinson University

Tonight I'll be assembling music to create an energetic Saturday night mood for you. We'll also be having a bit of a contest- the first listener to call in at 201-692-2012 and give me title and artist from any 10 songs I play will win a CD from the vault. ~ What A Long, Strange Trip It’s Been! ~

30 years ago, a group of Grateful Dead Fans decided to Broadcast live recordings of their favorite band(s) on WBAI-FM in NYC. The Show would eventually come to be called ‘Morning Dew’. Listeners would record the Broadcasts, and since then, thousands of people in the Tri-State Area have built up healthy collections of live music and rarities by The Grateful Dead, Hot Tuna, Allman Brothers, Taj Mahal, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, and many other musical artists and bands. Live In-Studio performances took place by bands such as Blues Traveler, The Spin Doctors, and many others.

The 3 current Host/Producers, Stu Robins Septoff, Don Grossinger and Bob O’Donnell have a combined 100 years of Radio experience. ‘The Dew Crew’ have expanded the scope of their Free-Form Radio fare to include Rock, Jazz, Bluegrass, Newgrass, Prog, Reggae and whatever is GOOD! They have conducted Interviews with such luminaries as Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, Paul Kantner, Roger McGuinn, Todd Rundgren, Richie Furay, Rosanne Cash, Ian Hunter, Dave Mason, Edie Brickell and even multiple members of Frank Zappa’s ‘Mothers Of Invention’. Up and coming bands and artists are featured, as well as established Touring Artists, Rock Photographers, Sound Engineers and Authors, all of whom are also featured on ‘Morning Dew’ in their Interview segments. Co-Producer Don Grossinger states: “There is no program that rivals the scope and depth of Morning Dew”.

WFDU Radio welcomes the Morning Dew Crew to their excellent roster of On-Air Host/Producers. ‘Morning Dew’ will Air on 89.1 FM each Saturday at 10:00 PM - 1:00 AM (EST), also streaming live at http://wfdu.fm , and on the free WFDU App, TuneIn Radio App or Alexa. Co-Producer Stu Robins Septoff explained The Dew Crew’s approach: “We like to go places where other stations dare not to go. You know, music from the other side of the fence!” Co-Producer Bob O’Donnell stated “We are excited to be coming to work at WFDU’s state-of the art facilities, and we’re pleased to be serving the broad Tri-State Area with the best in ‘Live Music Radio on WFDU Radio”

URGENT!!
Dear Morning Dew / WBAI Listeners,

After 30 years of The ‘Morning Dew’ Show broadcasting your favorite music, WBAI is removing 'Morning Dew' from it's schedule. For decades we have been announcing and reviewing music events, introducing new music from both established and upcoming artists, and offered literally hundreds of concert tickets to our listeners.

We are now urgently asking for your support. Hundreds of you have told us in person what The Morning Dew Show has meant to you, musically and culturally. "I built up my tape collection recording your show!" We've heard that a lot! We know you're out there. Now is the time to really make your presence known. Don, Stu & Bob volunteer a ton of time without any pay to do this program. Now we ask for your support in return.

We would gladly accept and encourage ALL Morning Dew listeners to send emails to the 4 addresses at the bottom of this page with your support for this show.

Send your emails to:

Thank you all for your decades of love and support! NOW is the time to stand up and be counted! You CAN Make a difference!

Cheers.
