DEI unveiled new Adapt-A-Shield and other heat solutions at PRI 2025!

The star of the show is the Adapt-A-Shield, a new heat barrier that looks like DEI’s familiar dimpled aluminum panels but behaves completely differently. It’s thinner, lighter, and way more moldable than the usual floor and tunnel shields, and the wild part is how forgiving it is. You can crush it, fold it, flatten it, reshape it… and it just keeps working. No adhesive needed. If you’re stuck in the pits, you can literally tear it to size (the backing gets a little fuzzy, but hey, it works). It's one of those “keep a sheet in the trailer” products for when something gets too hot or too close for comfort.

DEI also launched its new LokJaw Ties, an upgrade to the stainless ties that use a wave design to preload tension as you cinch them down. Translation: you don’t need the special tool anymore. Just pull them tight and they clamp way harder than the old style. For header wrap, lines, wiring, or anything that needs to stay put under heat, this is going to be an easy win. They’ll hit the shelves toward the end of January.

Rounding things out, DEI also added RV engine cover kits, pre-cut Jeep transmission pan shields (JT, JL, JK), and a new motorcycle seat shade cover for big touring bikes to keep you—and your passenger—cool while parked if you happen to have any of those, too.

Jeep Unveils New 2026 Wrangler Whitecap As Twelve 4 Twelve Celebration Continues!

The Jeep brand is pressing forward with its yearlong Twelve 4 Twelve celebration, revealing the second of 12 exclusive Wrangler models created to honor 85 years of off-road leadership. The 2026 Jeep Wrangler Whitecap arrives as a heritage-inspired special edition designed to celebrate the brand’s unmistakable legacy while delivering a bold new visual identity.

Available exclusively on Sahara and Rubicon trims, the Wrangler Whitecap showcases a Bright White painted hardtop and a matching Bright White painted seven-slot grille. On Sahara models, body-color fender flares come standard, while Rubicon models include them as part of the package. The look is further enhanced with Bright White 1941 side stripe decals on both Sahara and Rubicon, while the Rubicon also features a Bright White hood decal that underscores its trail-ready personality. For drivers seeking even more open-air flexibility, an optional Sky One-Touch powertop with Bright White accents is also available.

The 2026 Jeep Wrangler Whitecap combines the advanced technology found in Sahara and Rubicon models with the legendary 4×4 performance that defines the Wrangler nameplate. Buyers can choose between the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine or the 3.6-liter V6, ensuring a powertrain option that fits a wide range of driving styles and terrain demands.

Orders for the 2026 Jeep Wrangler Whitecap are now open. The Whitecap package starts at $2,690 on Sahara, which includes the optional body-color hardtop, and $3,185 on Rubicon, which includes the optional body-color hardtop and body-color fender flares.

Off-road racing has always been a proving ground for innovation, endurance, and outright bravery—and nowhere is that legacy more vividly captured than inside the Petersen Automotive Museum’s newest exhibit, “Legends of the Dirt.”

Now open in the Nearburg Gallery and presented in partnership with OPTIMA Batteries powered by Clarios, the exhibit dives deep into the machines, technology, and personalities that shaped some of the most demanding motorsports on earth.

From the brutal landscapes of the SCORE Baja 1000 to the unforgiving rock gardens of King of the Hammers, and from the icy stages of the World Rally Championship to the thin air atop Pikes Peak, these purpose-built vehicles embody the evolution of speed and survival off the pavement.

If you’ve ever looked at your Jeep and thought, “This thing needs more holiday cheer… and maybe an ugly Christmas sweater,” well, Merry Mopar-mas to you. The brand that lives and breathes horsepower, dirt, and proudly worn mud stains has dropped its 2025 holiday gift guide—and nestled between the tools, trail gear, and merch is something no one saw coming but everyone will talk about: Jeep Wrangler Ugly Sweater trail armor.

Yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. And yes, the new Jeep Wrangler Ugly Sweater trail armor, sold by MEK Magnet, is glorious. For $648, Wrangler owners can now armor up in holiday fashion that would make even Grandma’s knitted disasters jealous.

But unlike Grandma’s sweaters—known statewide for their ability to itch through three layers of clothing—this trail armor actually serves a purpose. Designed with advanced nano-hold technology that sticks to the Wrangler’s aluminum body, these panels aren’t just decorative; they protect your door and quarter-panel real estate from brush, rocks, holiday shopping cart attacks, and whatever else the season throws your way. Best of all, you can peel them off, wash them, reuse them, and embarrass your Jeep as many times as humanly possible.

Decked out in cheery red, green, and white, this exclusive, holiday-only armor transforms your current-generation four-door Wrangler into something between a trail-conquering machine and a rolling Christmas party. It’s equal parts festive, functional, and fantastically ridiculous. And honestly? It's kind of lovable. What do you think?

A few years ago, Eric Ammerman spotted this 1973 Dodge B200 Tradesman 4×4 van and tried to buy it, but the owner was not ready to sell. Eric says, “I have always been a fan of vans, especially 4×4 vans [the van was converted to four-wheel drive in 1975 at Burbank 4×4]. I have come very close to buying Quigley Ford vans but never found the perfect one. When I saw pictures of this van a few years ago, it was all I could think about. I had to have it. It is a Mopar product, and my career and rigs have always been Jeeps. Finally, the owner agreed to sell it, and I jumped on it as fast as I could.”

With that, the build of what Eric calls the “Smuggle Bus” began. Once in Michigan, Nick, officially the van’s “builder,” launched into a three-and-a-half-week wrenching blitz to prep the van for the drive to the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Inside, the van’s features include Overland Vehicle Systems slide-out storage, a Dometic CFX5 dual-zone electric cooler, a Trigger 6 Shooter switch controller, a Midland GMRS radio, and a seven-roller hot dog roller. (Eric is a self-avowed hot dog enthusiast.)

The van successfully made the trek to Vegas for SEMA, where it drew a huge crowd of admirers at the TYRI booth. It also completed the trip back to Michigan, needing only repairs to the power steering pump and a front wheel bearing along the way. Eric says the van has already logged more than 7,000 miles since he bought it.

This is Tyler Zimmer’s Chevy 6500HD, his family’s personal camping rig. He completed the build over the last eight weeks. They plan to camp all over the country with it, do some light off-roading, and use it to pull their rock buggies. Don’t let its shine fool anyone—within six months, it will be wearing its fair share of dents and scrapes.

For 2024 and newer Polaris RZR XP owners (and 2026 XP / XP S buyers), there are two very different ways to get serious audio:

💪 Factory Rockford Fosgate Audio Roof on the 2026 RZR XP/XP S

Instead of hanging pods and brackets all over the cage, Rockford builds everything into a one-piece, blow-molded roof. Inside that shell lives a full sound system, including an amplifier, a bank of full-range speakers, and a subwoofer. Power lands in the neighborhood of 800 watts. The Audio Roof is essentially the “OEM+” solution: clean, integrated, all-in-one, and styled so that nothing looks aftermarket.

💪 Rockford Fosgate Stage 6 1,500-watt system for 2024+ RZR XP with Ride Command.

This kit is built around Rockford’s Element Ready M5-1500X5 amplifier, a 5-channel beast that pumps out about 1,500 watts in an IPX6-rated, off-road friendly package. That amp becomes the heart of a seven-speaker layout designed specifically for the newest RZR XP chassis.

Up front, the system uses a pair of 6.5-inch M2 Color Optix coaxial speakers mounted in purpose-built enclosures that integrate with the RZR’s dash and lower cabin. To lift the sound stage and keep the music from feeling like it comes from your knees, Rockford adds a set of 1-inch M2 tweeters in dedicated door pods at the top front of the doors. That high-mounted tweeter placement does a lot of work in making the cabin sound more like a well-tuned truck and less like a toy. Out back, a pair of 8-inch M2 Color Optix coaxials fill dedicated rear pods that are shaped to clear popular accessories like spare-tire carriers and coolers. You still get big, full-range rear sound without sacrificing the ability to pack gear. The low end comes from a 10-inch M2 subwoofer living in a custom enclosure up front.

When Gymkhana drops a new film, the world pays attention. 🦘 Gymkhana 2025: Aussie Shred 🦘 is a no-prisoners celebration of speed, dirt, water, and full-send driving. It’s also a tribute to Australia’s extreme terrain and motorsport culture. But the breakout star isn’t just Travis Pastrana or the stunning locations—it’s the mechanical fever dream known as the Subaru Brataroo 9500 Turbo.

If you haven't seen it, do so!

Wanna play a game? What is this? A 4x4 Mustang, but how?

The story starts when Bob scored a batch of old vehicles. One was a 1972 International Scout that had been rolled but still ran. Another was a thrashed Mustang Mach 1. That’s when the idea hit—to graft the Mustang onto the Scout chassis. The problem? The Mustang’s wheelbase was longer. So Bob sliced the Scout’s frame in half, stretched it eight inches, and nailed the 108-inch wheelbase he needed. Just like that, the foundation was set. Fun fact: Bob set the Mustang’s body right on the Scout frame—no lift needed, and there’s still plenty of room for the 31s to travel freely.

The wrecked Scout originally ran a 345-cubic-inch V8, but Bob swapped in a newer, rebuilt 304. Mated to the engine is the Scout’s factory three-speed manual transmission. It sends power to the factory Dana 20 two-speed transfer case.

Bob swapped in a pair of axles from a late-’80s Jeep Wagoneer. Both pack limited-slip diffs and 3.54:1 gears. Up front, Superwinch manual hubs handle locking duty. Bob built the steering system and it includes a 1979 Pontiac Firebird box and a 1965 Ford pump. He even fabbed the pitman arm, drag link, and tie rod.

The ’Stang rides on the Scout’s mostly stock leaf-spring suspension, with Monroe shocks keeping it composed.
