Happy Memorial Weekend, as we enter the summer months and begin to celebrate this holiday weekend, let us all remember what this weekend is about. Memorial Weekend is a time in the United States dedicated to honoring and remembering the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military. Many people observe this holiday by visiting cemeteries and memorials, attending parades, and spending time with family and friends. However, the true significance lies in reflecting on the sacrifices made by those who have given their lives in service to their country.
Many of you know that my wife Jennifer has been working in the hospice and senior healthcare industry for the past 22 years. During this time, I have had the privilege to meet many business owners who serve the 55+ communities and healthcare providers who have a common goal of helping & guiding seniors as they age.

Jennifer has been with the same local not-for-profit Hospice agency for the past 22 years. During this time in healthcare, she has become very knowledgeable not only in hospice but all other aspects of healthcare such as assisted living, skilled nursing facilities, caregivers, and many other senior related needs. Jennifer is all about education and teaching people how to prepare themselves as they start to age. As a little old lady once said to Jennifer “the only golden about the golden years is your urine”. She told Jennifer this because she was so un-prepared for her aging years. Jennifer encourages everyone to become educated and prepared so that they can make better choices for themselves and their loved ones.

Nicholas Murch has been a health insurance broker and advocate for his Medicare clients since 2009. He works exclusively with Medicare insurance to ensure he stays current on all the constant changes in the industry. Nick and his family own their insurance agency, HCAG. Tom Bloom is a public speaker, cremation and funeral counselor, advance planning counselor, and Veteran funeral planning specialist. Tom Bloom has worked in the Funeral profession for over 30 years. He has managed funeral homes and over-seen cemeteries in nearby communities for most of those years. Kurt Bruggman is known as the VA Guy specializing in VA Aid & Attendance Benefits. The Aid & Attendance Benefit can help to reimburse Veterans for any care assistance that they may need. Kurt’s company is also a Non-Profit organization that assists Veterans and their spouses in receiving this benefit that they have earned. They do not charge for this service and are a donation-based organization that is dedicated to helping those who served our country during wartime. Surviving spouses are also entitled to this benefit.
