“Who Do I Trust (Me)” come from a real place.
The song reflects on loyalty, friendship, disrespect, anger, and the moment you realize that history with somebody doesn’t always mean they should continue having the same access to you.
LeBartlett remained loyal to a childhood friend through years of arrogance, disrespect, anger, and threats. Eventually, he chose to deal with the friendship with a ‘long spoon’ – creating distance while still looking out for his friend during his bid.
Through it all, one lesson became clear:
At the end of the day, the person LeBartlett knows he can truly rely on is himself.
“Who Do I Trust (Me)” is about learning when loyalty has reached its limit, protecting your peace, and trusting yourself enough to move better.
