¡Resumen del Festival Nacional del Libro!

The BP | EB was present at the 2026 National Book Festival in Washington, D.C.! We had a wonderful time meeting incredible writers and showing off our new tote bags.

¡BP | EB estuvo presente en el Festival Nacional del Libro de 2026 en Washington D.C.! ¡Lo pasamos de maravilla, conociendo a escritores y mostrando nuestras nuevas bolsas!

We had the opportunity to reunite with our author and Wisconsin Poet Laureate, Brenda Cárdenas. Make sure to check out her poetry collection BOOMERANG (2009), which was part of our Canto Cosas Series in partnership with Letras Latinas! Brenda Cardenas Letras Latinas Blog 2

Tuvimos la oportunidad de reencontrarnos con nuestra autora y poeta laureada de Wisconsin, Brenda Cárdenas. Su poemario BOOMERANG (2009) formó parte de nuestra serie Canto Cosas.

We also met ASU alumna and distinguished author Tayari Jones, author of AN AMERICAN MARRIAGE, a 2018 Oprah’s Book Club Selection that won the 2019 Women’s Prize for Fiction. Tayari Jones. It was a great pleasure meeting Silvia Moreno-García, the Mexican-Canadian author of the breakout 2020 horror hit, MEXICAN GOTHIC. Silvia Moreno-Garcia

También nos reunimos con la exalumna de ASU y distinguida autora, Tayari Jones, quien escribió AN AMERICAN MARRIAGE, que fue seleccionada por el Club de Lectura de Oprah en 2018 y ganó el Premio de Ficción para Mujeres en 2019. Submissions are NOW Open! ¡Ya pueden enviarnos su trabajo!

Macondistas and faculty can NOW submit their work for the Macondo Anthology from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, through Submittable.

¡Macondistas y profesores ya pueden enviarnos su trabajo para la antología de Macondo!

The theme for this anthology will be “Writing in Precarious Times/Escribir en tiempos precarios.”

Macondistas, including faculty, are invited to submit 1-5 pages of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or hybrid work in English or Spanish by Dec 31, 2026. Submissions will be accepted in English, Spanish, or Spanglish. The anthology will then be published in a bilingual edition. Each selected writer will receive a copy of the anthology.

Se invita a los miembros de la comunidad de Macondo, incluidos los profesores e instructores, a enviar entre 1 y 5 páginas de ficción, no ficción, poesía u obras de género híbrido, en inglés o en español, antes del 31 de diciembre de 2026. Se aceptarán textos en inglés, español o espanglish. Posteriormente, la antología se publicará en una edición bilingüe. Cada escritor seleccionado recibirá un ejemplar de la antología.

Thank you so much to all the writers who wrote alongside us during the inaugural BP | EB Summer Writing Challenge!

100 writers joined us, and together we wrote 194,817 words and 809 pages.

We spent 26,426 minutes writing. We learned a lot from you, and we enjoyed seeing writers from different genres come together.

We can't wait to host more writing challenges!

Thank you again to everyone who joined us to write this summer!
