An autopsy reveals 38-year-old, Henry Luis Suarez-Perez, from Killeen is the body found on October 27. Luis Suarez-Perez is being investigated as a suspicious death and he is a dependent. So, the Criminal Investigation Division’s Central Texas Field Office is also investigating.

“The investigation has revealed that Henry Luis Suarez-Perez was most likely in the area where his vehicle and body were located since October 6,” the Bell County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) wrote.

It wasn’t until October 24 that he was listed as a missing person by the Killeen Police Department.

“The Killeen Police Department notified the Sheriff’s Office, and both Criminal Investigations Divisions began working together to locate Henry Luis Suarez-Perez,” the BCSO wrote.

The investigation found that the BCSO responded to a report of a “suspicious” vehicle parked around White Flint Park Road, just off Highway 36, at around 10 PM on October 6. Deputies checked the area, but no one was around the car, according to the BCSO. The vehicle was tagged with an abandoned vehicle notification on the door glass.

At around 8 AM on October 7, someone called the (BCSO) to report a man was seated on the road in the area of White Flint Park Road and Winkler Park Road.

A deputy later went to check the area, but could not find the man. The deputy checked the vehicle from the previous call again but no one was there.

On October 22, 2025, the BCSO got another call from a neighbor in the area. That neighbor asked the deputy to check the car again. However, the deputy found out the car was empty and took it to a storage facility in .

The Bell County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with help from the Rangers, Texas DPS, Texas Highway Patrol, Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division K-9 and the Army Criminal Investigation Division’s Central Texas Field Office.

From reading posts and comments, it sounds like Michael “Mikey” Bishoff struggled with some mental health issues but had many friends and loved ones. This sounds like a really sad situation all around.

UPDATE: The Temple Police Department (TPD) says 48-year-old Michael Bishoff from is the man two officers shot and killed Thursday night after he threatened to kill them, according to TPD.

Officers say they thought he had a knife when he had two mechanical pencils. TPD still has not shared the officers’ names. However, they are on paid administrative leave with the Rangers investigate—which is standard.

Thursday, at around 9:50 PM a Temple Police officer called about a “suspicious person” walking on private property near S. 23rd and West Avenue G. Two officers were at the scene and asked the man to stop and talk with them. However, he ran away from officers, headed toward 25th Street.

The man ran to the railroad tracks. When officers caught up with him, they shouted “Hey, don’t reach into your pocket”. Then, the Temple Police Department (TPD) says an officer told another officer, “He’s got a knife”.

“Officers then told the suspect to stop and placed him at gunpoint,” TPD says.

However, TPD says the man started to run away—again. TPD says the man told one of the officers, “I’m going to kill you. I promise you. Don’t come on, I’m gonna kill you”.

According to TPD, an officer responded, “I’m not trying to kill you. I was just trying to talk to you”.
The man replied, “Don’t drop your goddamn gun”. One of the officers then said, “Drop the thing in your hand”, and the suspect stated, “I’m not dropping sh*t”. At this time, TPD officers claim the man started walking to one of the officers in what TPD describes as an “aggressive manner.”

“Come on then,” the man said. Officers asked him to stop and the suspect told them, “I’m not going to stop. Pull the trigger, I’m not going to jail. Get those lights out my eyes. Pull the trigger. I’m gonna tell you right now, I’ll make you drop it. I’m gonna kill you. I promise you I will.”

One of the officers responded, “Just stop man. Drop the knife. Just relax. Can you just stop?”
The man then stated, “I’m not stopping. Get out of my way,” and continued to walk up to one of the officers. Both of the officers then shot the man.

“The shiny object in the suspect's hand, previously believed to be a knife, was two mechanical pencils,” TPD wrote.

Officers tried to do CPR on the man until EMS got there. The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died at around 10:40 PM.

The Temple Police Department called in the Rangers to investigate the shooting.

Right now, both officers are on administrative leave with pay, this is standard pending an investigation.
