On this day in 1990 Garth Brooks was at #1 on the Country singles chart with "Friends in Low Places" written in 1989 by songwriters Earl Bud Lee and Dewayne Blackwell. It was released as the lead single from his album No Fences. The song was named the 1990 Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. Barry Kent plays "Friends in Low Places" this morning at 8:30.

2025 has been a milestone year for Riley Green.
Riley Green is in the running for one of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Men Alive in the 2025 Readers’ Choice Poll. He is up against Cody Johnson, Shaboozey and Warren Zeiders in the category of the “sexiest country singer.”
While the spotlight may be shining on him, Green’s heart remains rooted in his hometown of Jacksonville, Alabama,. I’ve always enjoyed the little, small town I grew up in. I still got a farm there in Jacksonville, Alabama, and my whole family grew up in that little community,” “So when I get to go home, I always say that’s like a vacation for me is going to the farm. And life just moves a lot slower down there.”

Scotty McCreery joined forces with Hootie & The Blowfish to bring their massive summertime anthem, “Bottle Rockets,” to life in a carefree, sun-filled music video.
Filmed on the Isle of Palms just outside Charleston, South Carolina, the video finds the musical acts soaking up some rays as they strum their instruments and sing the tune around a fire with the ocean waves as their backdrop.
“Hanging out on the beach with Hootie & The Blowfish, one of my favorite bands of all time, and filming the video for ‘Bottle Rockets’ was just a perfect day for me,” said McCreery. Check out the video on my ‘Facebook Post of the Night’
