Tragedy in River Cess: Drugs Suspected in Deadly Crash

A sad accident in Gbedia Town has left two people dead and another fighting for their life. On Sunday night, April 5, a Land Cruiser jeep owned by Palm Group of Company crashed into a motorbike carrying three people.

The big jeep hit a Bajaj motorbike. Two men on the bike died, and a woman is now in critical condition at JFK Hospital in Monrovia.

When police searched the company vehicle, they found packages of ma*****na inside.
Authorities haven't yet named the driver or the people inside the jeep.

In Liberia, ma*****na is illegal, and police are now investigating how these drugs ended up in a corporate vehicle involved in such a terrible accident. Please Follow View Gbarnga

Update:

27 Arrested as AFCON Workers’ Protest Turns Violent in Yekepa

At least 27 people have been arrested following violent protests by AFCON workers in Yekepa, authorities in Nimba County have confirmed.

The workers took to the streets early Wednesday, assembling at the AFCON head office to demand payment of alleged unpaid salaries and benefits. While organizers described the action as peaceful, the situation reportedly turned chaotic when a security officer was overpowered, his firearm seized, and he was physically assaulted.

State security forces later intervened to restore order.

Nimba County Police Commander ACP Larmie Mendin says the 27 suspects have been transferred to the police station in Sanniquellie, where they are undergoing investigation. He also confirmed that the firearm taken during the incident has been recovered.

Commander Mendin has urged all AFCON workers to return to work and pursue their grievances through lawful and peaceful means, stressing that violence will not be tolerated.

Security remains tight in Yekepa as investigations continue.
