Following a successful visit to the Minister for the Interior of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, in Riyadh, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Ghanaโ€™s Minister for the Interior called on the Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dakhel to express his gratitude for the warm reception he received during his trip.

The Minister thanked both the Saudi Arabia Interior Minister and the Ambassador for their hospitality and assured them of good working collaboration between Ghana and Saudi Arabia.

The Minister presented a letter of appreciation to the Ambassador to be delivered to the Saudi Arabia Interior Minister as a sign of respect and deep appreciation.

BOUBAI IN THE ASOKORE MAMPONG MUNICIPALITY.

Public Land at Boubai Sale Raises Questions

A piece of public land, long regarded as a nature reserve and waterway buffer, Part has been sold for GHS 600,000. Many in the community now call those behind the deal names, because they sold what we all believe to be nature reserved land and waterway.

We have now realised that some people are working for their own interests, not for the collective interest of the community. For me, I was even offered a parcel of land at the hospital site, but I rejected it because I have a principle.

What makes the matter worse is the hypocrisy. For years, we all agreed it was wrong to build on waterways and reserves. Now that some people are involved, they are working hard to justify what we collectively fought against.

When I contacted one of the buyers agent, he told me, โ€œThose who called us thieves are the same people who sold the land.โ€ When I pressed further, he said some members of the Boubai landlords and residents associations.

The question remains: how did land meant for the public nature reserve land get sold off, and why has the communityโ€™s position changed so suddenly? This sale not only undermines public trust but also threatens the safety and environment of everyone.

New Chief Justice Named: My Renewed Confidence in the Justice System

The naming of Ghanaโ€™s new Chief Justice has given me a sense of renewed confidence in our justice system. For many years, many Ghanaians, myself included, have questioned the independence and effectiveness of the judiciary. Too often, the system has been viewed with suspicion, leaving the public doubtful about its ability to deliver true justice.

With this appointment, however, I believe the tide is turning. I have great respect for the new Chief Justice, and I trust in his ability to steer the judiciary toward fairness, transparency, and accountability. His track record and character inspire hope that the institution will be strengthened and public trust restored.

The justice system is the backbone of any democracy. When it is credible, society flourishes; when it fails, everything else suffers. This moment is more than a change in leadership โ€” it is an opportunity for real reform and progress.

As a citizen and journalist, I will continue to hold onto this hope and contribute to the call for a stronger, more just Ghana.

In Riyadh today, Ghanaโ€™s Minister for Interior Hon. Muntaka Mubarak has productive meeting with the Hon. Minister for Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz.

His Highness extended a warm welcome, creating a positive atmosphere for the discussions. The meeting focused on strengthening security cooperation between Ghana and Saudi Arabia, with attention to emerging threats and issues of mutual concern. Both sides also explored opportunities for enhanced collaboration in law enforcement, counter-terrorism, intelligence sharing, and capacity building.

This engagement reflects the shared commitment of Ghana and Saudi Arabia to deepen bilateral relations and foster lasting bonds of friendship and cooperation.
