After graduating from high school, Medina McKellar wasn’t entirely sure what her future held. Although real estate had crossed her mind—two of her grandparents had earned their licenses after retirement—she assumed she wouldn’t enjoy working in sales. For twelve years, Medina served as a respiratory therapist. While she found value in the work, over time, it began to feel repetitive.
At first, Medina joined a team as a buyer’s agent in 2012. She soon discovered that real estate wasn’t what she had feared; it wasn’t about pushing products, but about people and relationships. “I just wanted to be the best advocate and resource for my clients,” she explained. “I wanted to establish a relationship with my clients, while helping them navigate one of the largest investments of their lives, and that’s what I get to do. In real estate, the house sells itself. And if it doesn’t, I get to overcome those objections by giving that buyer other avenues to consider that may have not crossed their mind before.”
As she looks to the future, Medina envisions herself selling real estate for decades to come- she’s not stopping anytime soon. With a deep love for her work, strong family bonds, and a desire to grow but maintain that personal touch, Medina balances work, family, personal time, and community service in perfect harmony. She still helps her clients breathe easy, now as they find their new homes and settle in.
