I love this and see so much wisdom in it. We don't have to have all of the answers to be there for others and we don't need them to have all of the answers to be there for us. Showing up is enough. Saying I'm so glad you told me is enough. Sometimes all we need is just to make space and time to be there with others or allow them to do it for us. Who is your person that does this for you? Give them a shout out and a thank you!

Rest is necessary, not a luxury. Make sure you take time for it before your body forces you too!

Sunny reminds us that rest is not lazy, it’s essential. You don’t have to earn it. You don’t have to feel guilty for it.

Take the cue from the herd. Pause, breathe, and give yourself permission to simply be.

Equine therapy was not something on my radar until this opportunity came up. Sometimes the surprises that come along can turn out to be exactly what we didn't know we were missing. I am so happy to be a part of Sunny Creek Ranch Horses For Heroes and all of the amazing work that our veterans put into healing. I am also kind of partial to my 4 legged coworkers!

With a background in trauma-focused care and a deep personal connection to the military, Jessica is passionate about helping veterans and their families heal and reconnect through the power of equine-assisted therapy. Sunny Creek Ranch is such an amazing place for veterans to come to heal! Every person involved in this program from the staff to the clients create such a supportive and transformational environment. With leadership like Shannon's this program changes lives every week and will continue to do so for years to come! Running a nonprofit isn’t easy, but the purpose behind it makes every challenge worth it. When a veteran tells me they finally slept through the night after a session, that they feel peace and calm from the moment they walk through our gate, when a child opens up for the first time in weeks, or when a military family gathers for a joyful moment of connection on our ranch, I’m reminded that this is exactly where I’m meant to be.
