Aveline Magazine

Aveline Magazine An ode to young women in their season of becoming. With a little something to inspire you as you grow. Founded in South Georgia.

I catch myself doing this all the time.

Thinking so much about what’s next that I forget to really appreciate where I am.

With all the big plans and goals, sometimes it just feels like it’s a season I need to just get through to get to the next thing.

But today, I kind of like who I’m becoming, so I think I’ll try to let myself enjoy her.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been thinking a lot about the women who’ve helped me become who I am today.

Aunts, neighbors, teachers, my mom’s best friends, and a really cool sister-in-law. They’re the kind of women who make wisdom feel real with the most outlandish stories about crazy things they’ve gone through, but somehow, they’ve learned how to laugh and love even better because of it.

They pray for me, cheer me on, and know exactly when I need someone to tell me to chill out and breathe.

I don’t think we talk enough about how much those women matter.

If you have someone like that in your life, I hope you tell them. Text them. Thank God for them. Let them know you hear them.

And maybe, little by little, we’ll learn how to become that kind of woman for someone else too.

P.S. And then there’s Dad who seems to appear at just the right time. That’s a post for another day.

“Did It Anyway” is for the girl learning that sometimes courage comes first, and confidence grows as you go.

For Liza Overmyer, that looks like starting a floral business from the ground up at 23, with faith, creativity, and a lot of figuring it out as she goes.

For anyone waiting until they feel ready, this one’s for you.

At the heart of GirlSpring is a simple mission: helping girls grow in confidence, creativity, leadership, and voice.

And they do that in so many ways.

Through GirlSpring.com, girls ages 13–18 can find resources, stories, and support in a space made just for them. And with more than 15,000 girls visiting the site each month, it’s pretty clear that girls are looking for this kind of support.

Through SpringBoarders, teen leaders help shape content, lead conversations, and create published work. Through Wonder Women events, SHE Camp, career and STEM fairs, and in-school programs, girls get access to mentorship, confidence-building, creativity, and real conversations about who they are becoming.

It’s a lot in the best kind of way.

That’s why we’re so proud to support GirlSpring through Aveline. In every issue of the magazine, we feature a SpringBoarder whose work reminds us what can happen when girls are encouraged early and given room to grow.

Because empowered girls don’t just become confident women.

They become the kind of women who create meaningful lives and build stronger communities.

Think you’re in the know because you saw it on TikTok?

Sydney Palmer has a few thoughts.

In a world of breaking news alerts and comment sections that somehow know everything and nothing, it’s easy to feel like we’re keeping up.

But in her story for Aveline, Sydney reminds us that being informed takes more than catching a headline on your For You Page.

Start with local news. Know what’s happening in your town, your campus, your state, and the places that shape your actual life.

Because you’re not just figuring out who you are. You’re figuring out where you belong, what you care about, and how you want to show up.

Annoying adult truth: paying attention matters.

Being informed doesn’t mean knowing everything. It means caring enough to look a little closer.

So read past the headline. Find a few sources you trust. Stay curious.

Read “It’s News to Me” in the latest issue of Aveline.

“Did It Anyway” is for the girl learning that becoming isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about staying curious enough to ask the questions.

For Heali Patel, curiosity has become a way of moving through the world. As a finance major with big dreams and an even bigger perspective, she’s learning that growth doesn’t come from knowing everything, it comes from being willing to keep learning.

For anyone balancing ambition with uncertainty, this one’s for you.

As a recent grad, I can say this with my whole heart: college is one of the most beautiful, confusing, fun, overwhelming seasons of your life.

Between classes, leadership roles, meeting new people, late-night conversations, comparison culture, ambition, pressure, and trying to figure out who you are becoming…it’s a lot.

What I wish I knew sooner is that no one has it all figured out. Some girls are just better at making it look like they have it all together.

That’s exactly why we’re launching the Aveline Campus Salon.

I wanted to create something that felt like a meaningful girls’ night with purpose — a space where college women can slow down, connect, reflect, and leave feeling encouraged in who they are becoming.

Through conversations with young women who are building businesses and creating change in their communities, each Salon is designed to spark confidence, belonging, friendship, and purpose.

And…each Salon features a rotating pop-up experience inspired by the season — something stylish, creative, and meaningful, with a beautiful takeaway for every guest.

My hope is simple. That every girl leaves feeling a little more confident in who she is and excited about who she’s becoming.

It’s easy to look at women doing amazing things and think they must have always known exactly what they were doing.

Like they already had the confidence, the business plan, and the big vision when they started.

But most of the time, that’s not really how it is.

A lot of them started with a small idea and a little voice in their head saying, “Are we sure about this?”

Some were broke. Some heard a lot of nos. Some started later than they wanted to. Some were working on their dream after class or after work, whenever they could find the time.

And still, they kept going.

That’s the part I keep coming back to.

They did it anyway.

And you can too.
