Thursday in Thornton to offer up chilly temps, a light shot of snow. Our next storm system is arriving and will usher in conditions far closer to normal than what recent weeks have offered. Unfortunately, snowfall will be quite limited but at this point, we will take what we can get. Cloudy skies will be above throughout the day today. High temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 30s. Like we discussed late yesterday, we have issues that will likely prevent this system from amounting to much in terms of snow. Biggest concerns are minimal upslope and the fact moisture is far from abundant. Light snow / flurries will be likely through the day but with minimal accumulations, maybe a half inch by sunset. We may get lucky and see some brief periods of increased upslope allowing for better numbers but that is unlikely. Tonight, it will remain cloudy, and snow will continue to fall. Overnight, another inch or so will be possible. The same concerns about dry air and lack of upslope remain. Lows will be dropping to the low 20s. More: https://www.thorntonweather.com/
