So stoked to have my studio fully updated, refurbed, and sounding better than ever! Dumped the old Pro Tools Digi 002 Rack since my ancient FireWire iMac finally bit the dust. Switched over to a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 feeding into my MacBook Air for a direct line input from my beloved Pendulum Quartet preamp, which has brand new JJ Electronic input and output tubes. The Focusrite came with a free version of Pro Tools Intro, which is more than powerful enough for my needs. I also refurbished my CAD E-350 microphone with brand new internal batteries, and much needed new custom elastic bands for the shock mount. It’s now joined by my new Dachman Audio DA 87SE (an amazing U87 replica), which I’ll be using for most VO work. The E-350 will be reserved for promos, trailers, and any other projects that call for that extra rich tone. In the immortal words of Frank Costanza, “I’m back, baby!”
