We have until July 22nd to be heard. Check recent page posts for some extra information, and please do even a simple email or letter.
This is about the purposed mega chicken farm again, which by law no work is supposed to be done on it until approved, said to not have tile or anything, not prone to draining to the river, claimed picked a location with no one within a mile to be affected, and also by law is supposed to have a silt barrier up when doing construction.
As you can see in these images taken on July 17th, 2025 in the late evening, work was started BEFORE approval, and also nothing to stop the silt! Already going around EPA government regulations BEFORE being approved!
Do you think if they don't respect and follow regulations to protect residents and the environment before construction, they won't happen to let following more slip their mind or avoid it so their profits don't slip at all?
The land slopes quite a bit to the river. This was after yesterday's big rain storm, it had already run off the land and down into the river. You can see there's multiple high volume paths the water takes surrounding the whole area, down towards a local residential property, and all of them towards the river!
There is obviously many people also living to the east of the location, some less than a mile. Some will get the run off, all will get f***l matter, germs, diseases, smell, ect that gets blown by wind, fans, and random wild life raining down on them. Not to mention the river is down wind as well, so that'll all come floating up the river into Tiffin as well.
Think about it, look at the area, look at current and past practices and consideration for the law, regulations, local area, the residents and the environment of NW Ohio!
Reach out to local officials, Ohio, Seneca County, township trustees, Ohio EPA, and don't forget everyone North of Tiffin should as well. Like Fort Seneca, Fremont, Sandusky, and any communities along the lake.
Give the people you elected and trusted to make the best decisions for you your word and opposition! It doesn't take much, you can go as far to call them, try to meet with them, or keep it simple and just be another count of a citizen that's not happy and send them a simple letter or email. Doesn't have to be much, or it can be the full brunt of your disgust in that this is even being considered.
The Department of Agriculture will accept written comments until July 22, 2025 at 5pm. Emails can be sent to [email protected]
This is a form you can use or write your own.
