Hopefully this is good news!

We have noticed a decline in the taste of the chocolate chips we use and an increase in ingredients we can’t pronounce 🙃

For this reason, we will be sourcing chocolate chips elsewhere.

We taste tested these yesterday and were pleased with the ingredients and taste. We were able to purchase in bulk, so I’m transferring to jars to vacuum seal!

Homesteaders/business owners going on a Day Date looks a little different 🤣

We were totally in our element today. We got to spend the day in Ohio Amish Country getting canning supplies, baking essentials, a little produce, and bulk meat and cheese. We also got to make a stop at Hartzlers dairy for some quality milk, cream, and of course their amazing egg nog!

Just another day sourcing quality ingredients/food for ourselves and our customers. ❤️

We’re headed home with a FULL van now.

Freeze dried strawberries
Canned green beans

All local, in season produce that we will be able to enjoy long after it’s growing ❤️

Reminder!

Homestead 6:33 raises, processes, and sells meat chicken.

Knowing where your food has come from, what it has been fed, and seeing the hands that prepared it is a wonderful experience. Not to mention the incredible TASTE!

Our last batch of the year is HERE and we currently have 20 left for reservation.

They will be ready to go around the second week of October.

One of our major goals for this year has been to source good quality, local, in season food to nourish our bodies with.

Some of the food we’ve been loving this year is ending in seasonality and we’re not ready for it!

We’ve been doing our best to preserve as much as possible! Whether it be freezing or canning.

We also have been very fortunate to have found a great deal on a home freeze dryer recently and I’m learning the ropes on how to use it.

Today we have homegrown strawberries from Drown’s going into in the freeze dryer, which will be ready in about 2 days.

The process is longer than I had realized, but wow it’s so cool to know we can have fresh, local food in the dead of winter.

We are thankful for the blessings we have received this year and are doing our best to make the most of them!
