A brand-new Italian dining concept is coming to Ostrich Towne featuring the recipes of Chef Paul Matthews, former Executive Chef of Biaggi’s, Ciao Bella, and Basil!

The new restaurant will be opening in the location where Avestruz currently resides.

We’re thrilled to share that a brand-new Italian dining concept is coming soon to Ostrich Towne - featuring the incredible recipes of Chef Paul Matthews, former Executive Chef of Biaggi’s, Ciao Bella, and Basil. Chef Paul’s culinary expertise and passion for authentic, elevated Italian cuisine will bring an exciting new flavor to our growing community of restaurants and experiences.

As we look forward, we also want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks to Chef Aaron and Steph for their extraordinary creativity and dedication. Their fusion cuisine has been unlike anything Toledo has tasted before, and we wish them every success on their next exciting adventure.

Stay tuned - more details will be shared soon on the Ostrich Towne website and social media pages as the new concept prepares to open in early 2026.

🇨🇺 Sweet Havana - Cuban Restaurant authentic Cuban cuisine is now open on S. Reynolds Rd! 🇨🇺

Serving up real-deal Cuban dishes, tropical Batidos (Cuban smoothies), Cuban sodas, and bold Cuban coffee—plus a full bar now open with their liquor license!

Owners Yamirka “Yami” Monzon, who grew up in Havana, and her husband Oscar Gomez, who helped launch two San Marcos restaurants, crafted the Cuban-inspired menu—prepared by Chef Rene Cabello, also a native of Cuba.

Waterville-based band, Hit & Run, has just released a full-length LP, “Crash Course.”

The 6-piece band from the outskirts of the Toledo region wrote and recorded the 11-track album in about a year.

Fifty years after the tragic sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, singer Meredith Moon will honor the 29 lost souls—and her late father, Gordon Lightfoot—with a special tribute performance.

Catch it at The Valentine Theatre on November 9th during The National Museum of the Great Lakes’ weekend-long anniversary celebration.
