Montgomery County has confirmed its first West Nile death of 2026. The victim lived in the 77304 area, and mosquito season isn't over yet.

Here's what residents need to know.

The Flock camera battle in Conroe has escalated. Council members report alleged death threats and harassment of family members, and Conroe Police are now investigating. The FBI says it's aware of the allegations.

The Woodlands Township says replacing Alpha & Omega Mounted Security Patrol could save taxpayers about $200,000 a year. But just months ago, the board pursued an Elon Musk tunnel without publicly knowing what it would cost to operate. So why does $200,000 suddenly matter now?

Former employees of Magnolia City Hall have filed federal lawsuits and resigned after reporting serious issues, including sexual harassment and assault. The city's leadership is urged to address the problem before it becomes a bigger issue.

This is how they say it will work: your license plate will become your parking ticket at Shop at Market Street in The Woodlands. Cameras will scan it when you enter and again when you leave.

It is private property, so management makes the parking rules. But shoppers still get to decide if they are comfortable with them.

Would this change how often you visit?

Market Street is installing cameras that will read your license plate when you drive in and when you leave.

And after reading the parking company’s own privacy policy, I have questions.

The system can collect your plate, information about your vehicle, and when and where your car was seen. Under certain conditions, that information can also be provided to law enforcement or government agencies.

Then there’s the parking notice itself.

It talks about a “free or validated period” and what happens “if payment is due.”

So are we headed toward paid parking too?

And what happens during the Christmas tree lighting when hundreds of people show up?

There may be good answers.

But I think shoppers deserve to hear them before this system goes live.

Would this make you visit Market Street less?

Conroe residents will not get to vote on the city’s Flock license-plate cameras after the City Council rejected the proposal 3–2.

Should the council make this decision, or should Conroe voters have been allowed to decide? Let me know what you think.

A former Magnolia police officer and Magnolia ISD transportation employee has been arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child. Investigators are concerned there could be other unreported incidents and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The allegations have not been proven in court. Details and contact information are included in the video.

How long before these trees are gone too? 🌳

Just across the way, mature trees have already been cleared for new development. Now this green space sits surrounded by commercial property.

At some point, land like this becomes more valuable for development than it does as open space.

Should Tomball be doing more to protect mature trees and green space, or is this simply the price of growth?

Let me know what you think in the comments.

Sometimes a community shows you exactly what it’s made of. ❤️

When local artist Bonnie Brown found herself facing an unexpected hardship, Victoria Ruby with Vee Hive - Creative Community stepped in. In less than a week, friends and local businesses came together to turn an idea into something special.

❤️ Office Depot - Tomball 2617
🏪 Michael Dean Pierce Jr. | Cloud Chief & Co.

This is what happens when local businesses, artists and neighbors show up for one another.

And as Michael put it: “We don’t have an art gallery, but we’re gonna make one wherever we can.”
