Kia ora! Our scrappy little concert film ‘Live at the Void’ is having a preview screening tonight at at 7PM.
Back in September, I used the veil of my 21st as an excuse to invite some of my favourite bands to play a Misheard gig at our flat that sits in limbo between Mt Albert and Mt Roskill. Corey came along to film the whole thing, and after piecing together the footage and audio with all it’s mishaps embraced we managed to put together a 90 minute, feature length concert film with top-of-the-pops esque annotations, scribbled animations, and some gaffes.
With our shared love of cinemas (and my time spent behind the bar across them), we knew we wanted to celebrate the movie at a proper theatre. It’s been sick working with to make this a cool experience, and our tester last week confirmed it’ll be fu**in sick.
While I’m stoked that it’s technically my first producer credit on a independent released film, I cannot emphasise how much of this project is thanks to Corey. Their patience, guidance, and friendship as I stumbled through this project and figured out what exactly we were making kept me mostly sane and incredibly grateful.
We’ll be milling around the cinema lobby from 6:30 before kicking off the screening at 7. You can grab tickets at the link below, or give us a nice surprise and show up to grab a ticket tonight. Cyas there :)
