Had to put my sweet Sirius, aka Handsome Man, down a few days ago. Even though I knew it was time, it's still hard.

I miss him coming for snuggles every morning while I read through emails and how he would sometimes yowl in a Marco Polo way, like "where is everyone?".

He was 14 years old and I'd had him since he was 6 weeks old. He was truly one of a kind and I'm going to miss him terribly.

How much solar power you actually need...

We just attended an RV rally where we had the opportunity to present a seminar on RV electrical systems. We received LOTS of questions both during and after the seminar, but there was one theme that kept coming up..."How much power do I need for boondocking (solar panels, batteries, generator, etc.)?"

The RV Toilet Disaster That Wouldn't End

What should have been a simple RV toilet replacement turned into a complete disaster.

After the flapper seal on our RV toilet failed and caused an overflow, we decided it was time to install a brand-new toilet. The installation seemed straightforward enough... until the new toilet failed in the middle of the night.

At 1 AM, we found ourselves pulling the brand-new toilet back out, reinstalling the old one, and going back to flushing with bottles of water while we figured out what went wrong.

In this video, we walk through:
• What caused the original toilet failure
• Why our smart leak sensors and automatic water shutoff system were so important
• Challenges we ran into during the installation
• Diagnosing a defective brand-new toilet
• The mistakes we made along the way
• Installing a second replacement toilet and testing everything again
