Chicken PSA - one chicken keeping topic. I don’t see that comes up that often is your chickens toenails. Today I noticed one of my older hens wasn’t moving and looked a little off. Hands-on is everything with these little birds! I picked her up and quickly realized her toenails had gotten a little too long, and both of her feet were stuck together, locked by those toenails. I quickly got her unlocked and grabbed the nail clippers that I keep out by the coops and got her all trimmed up with a beautiful pedicure. It’s one of those simple things that you forget about and it’s so easy to do but if you’re out in your coops today, pick up all your birds take a quick look and make it a good pedicure spa day for them! 😊

Good productive day working on the two Kikiriki coops! Chicken wire up, doors hung and roosting bars in. Tomorrow I’ll build a couple of nesting boxes and finish painting THEN move birds in!!!
