Gas prices

Looking for input on how you are surviving the increase in gas prices. According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Tooele County today, May 4, is $4.35; in Utah, $4.39; and nationally, $4.46.

One year ago today the average price for a gallon of regular in Utah was $3.29. That's a $1.10 increase, or 33.4%, in 12 months.

We would like to know, especially for our work commuters, how the increase in gas prices has affected your life. What are you doing to help meet the price at the pump? Less driving, more carpooling, more work from home, eating less, or other ways you're saving money to put gas in your tank?

The Tooele Transcript Bulletin 2026 Easter Coloring Contest is coming to an end. There are extra copies of this coloring book available at each Soelberg's stores and at The Tooele Transcript Bulletin in our yellow magazine rack located at the North front corner of our building. The copies at Soelberg's are available at their service counter. There are 32 separate coloring contests available this year for ages 0-12 years of age. The deadline for entry is this Friday. Good luck and we hope that everyone enjoys this contest. Thank you!
