We are thrilled!

Friends!! I did something very exciting last week! (Then proceeded to come down with a nasty virus... 😭😆) Book 3 of my Tales of the Mystics series is off to my publisher!!!

This story has been on my heart for a LONG time. As in, I started writing it before Common was first published in 2018 😳 It was both so challenging and so rewarding to *finally* type THE END and send it off! I'm looking forward (with only a bit of trepidation) to seeing what the editing team says and getting this book all polished up and ready for readers! I don't know anything about the timing going forward yet, but stay tuned for updates!

Mary here! If I were to be struck dead tomorrow, I’d want my friends and family to know that Jesus is my healer. He has healed me. When I felt gutted and hopeless a few years ago, and couldn’t feel joy or light, He prompted me to seek out my ancestors (even though my direct line is pretty fleshed out in my family tree). So I searched for my ancestors’ siblings’ families and was stoked to find something.

Scotland’s People! A really cool website where you can pay for copies of original census, marriage, church, and vital records. I learned of ancestors who lost babies because of malnutrition. Others who worked as coal miners, bakers, who died of pneumonia, consumption, or who lived at sea. I became OBSESSED (and even got a job with Door Dash to pay for my new addiction hehe).

What I can tell you is, as I researched and thought about these people, I could feel my Savior working a miracle in me. I started to feel light again. Joy. I was EXCITED to learn about my ancestors’ families’ lives.

Logically, maybe it doesn’t make sense that researching family records could cause such a bright light to burn in me, or maybe one could chalk it up to an adrenaline rush every time I found something.

But Malachi 4:5-6 talks about how Elijah will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, or the whole earth will be wasted. We’re SUPPOSED to want to do family history work. It is necessary!! I testify that it brings TRUE and lasting joy. It has in me.

(These pictures are from an amazing church and graveyard in Bothwell, Scotland, where my ancestor was buried. I visited with my husband and oldest son after I did all my research, another tremendous blessing!)

We have a super-duper exciting announcement!! We just signed Sara Jo Cluff, aka Jo Cassidy for… get this… a teen SERIAL KILLER thriller! It’s called A LOVE YOU CAN’T DENY and is the most bingeable read. It has dual points-of-view with the sweetest protagonist ever—and the deranged boy in love with her. It’s frightening but also, in typical Jo Cassidy style, funny and sweet. You guys are going to LOVE this book. Coming early 2026.

We have a special treat for you this . Author Michael James Emberger approached us, saying he’s written three books dedicated to trauma victims. And he’s giving away these books for FREE (see comments for his website link). Michael’s work perfectly aligns with our desire to confront this type of darkness.

This is what he said:

We hope to be able to share your creativity and your hearts, so we can all grow together. We would love to toot your horns and promote your work! We also want to be able to provide a source for anyone who hungers to share something but isn't quite ready to put their names on it. Submit anything that may stay true to our brand and could be postable on social media - media that could be dark and creepy, or light and filled with God's love. It could help improve mental health or increase abuse awareness, or talk about everyday struggles. . It could be art, song, a poem, a personal narrative, a short story, an idea, an important fact, or even just your thoughts on your favorite Monster Ivy read.
