Took the ol’ “trophy fracture” in for inspection today to see how healing was going. Good news: healing nicely. Bad news: apparently my elbow interpreted “fracture” as a challenge and decided one crack wasn’t enough.

Today’s X-ray showed it’s fractured across the radial head and vertically. Because when I break things, I believe in giving 110%. Overachiever status: confirmed.

The doctor has officially extended my “Out of Order” sign for another 5 weeks with minimal lifting. Apparently I’m not supposed to be yanking on Jeep parts, hauling stuff around, or testing my offroad toys anymore.

Looks like my adventures are temporarily limited to:

🔷️ Making Jeep parts lists
🔷️ Watching other people do the heavy lifting
🔷️ Pointing at things with my good arm

At this rate, the Jeep build will be fully completed in my head before my elbow is factory-approved again!

Detour Ahead!! During our trip, I took a tumble while stopping to check out a flooded roadway. I stepped back, caught my foot on a large rock, which, honestly, felt rude and unnecessary, and went down on an outstretched arm. Cue the pain, and all the fun extras that come with eating dirt in public. Thankfully, I was with a group who all jumped in to help, I truly appreciate everyone's kindness.

Today I got the official update: radial head fracture. So, apparently I’m not just leaving this trip with memories…I’m leaving with a trophy fracture.

Lesson learned: keep your head on a swivel, because you never know what might be out to get you.

Example X-Ray: Yellow shows where my fracture is located.

Somewhere between flooded roads, surprise detours, injury, exhaustion, and expo day…we apparently decided this was a relaxing adventure.

And honestly? I wouldn’t trade a single second of it.

The last few days have been a little muddy, a little messy, and a whole lot memorable. We got tested in all the usual ways: tired bodies, rerouted plans, and those “well, this is definitely not how we pictured this going” moments. But what stood out most wasn’t the chaos, it was the people.

I saw teamwork when things got hard.
Humility when plans changed.
Communication getting stronger in real time.
Kindness showing up without being asked.
And that unshakable feeling of family that makes even the roughest roads feel worth it.

Because the truth is, anything worth doing usually comes with a few bumps, bruises, potholes, and probably a flooded backroad or two. But when you’re doing it with your people? That’s where the good stuff happens.

As we head home, I’m tired, grateful, probably still mud stained from my fall, and incredibly thankful for the time, new connections, and the amazing people in my life.

Would I like the next adventure with slightly fewer detours and maybe less physical damage? Sure.
But this one? Still one for the books.

As we make our way to The Moore Expo, we're trading the pavement for the path less traveled. During the run from Topeka to Springfield, we will be exploring those hidden gems tucked away between the Kansas plains and the Missouri Ozarks.

While the pavement may offer a faster route, the path less traveled is where memories are made.

Stepping outside of your comfort zone is often where the greatest growth begins. I’m looking forward to attending SEMA this year and embracing the opportunities, ideas, and connections that come from trying something new. Growth happens when we stay open to possibility, challenge ourselves, and lean into experiences that expand our perspective.

Where trucks, off‑road, and powersports collide. The 2026 SEMA Show is expanding with a dedicated Powersports section designed to reflect how modern enthusiasts live, and build, their adventures!

Designed for growth and outdoor activations, it creates new opportunities to showcase products while bringing the entire adventure aftermarket together under one roof to drive connection, innovation, and business growth.

Healing has looked a little different over here lately. After being off the grid recovering from a car accident in January, I’ve been focused on rest, recovery, and getting a healing path in place. Now that the road ahead is a little clearer, it’s time to start turning our team focus back to the journey.

We’re excited to be running the Midwest Discovery Route in April and getting back to the kind of place that always feels most like home, off the beaten path. As a team, that’s where we focus, reconnect, and remember why we love this adventure in the first place.

Here’s to healing, grit, and getting back out there. Adventure is calling.

Regardless of the challenges, the end goal remains the same.
