PUBLIC NOTICE – RAFFLE UPDATE

In order to raise funds for the annual Christmas stroll, TACC recently held a raffle for a donated liquor basket. Due to an accidental destruction of some ticket records, the raffle cannot be conducted fairly.

As required by Montana charitable gaming laws, we have been instructed to void the raffle. The Montana Gambling Control Division has given directions for a corrective plan and we are now contacting all individuals whose ticket purchases we can identify.

If we have your purchase information, you will receive a phone call within the next day offering:
• A refund, OR
• A transfer of your tickets into the newly restarted raffle.

Funds collected from anonymous purchasers — for whom we have no identifying information — are treated as charitable donations, as instructed by GCD guidance. For those that do not receive a phone call but can identify when/where they purchased raffle tickets and would like the option to transfer to the new raffle, please call the Chamber at 406-266-4101 prior to Saturday Dec 13th.

Watch out for this fake ‘Windows Update’ malware scam that’s going around.

A genuine Windows Update will never ask you to perform this specific series of instructions.

Security researchers from Huntress are warning the public about a new variant of ClickFix, one of the most popular scam methods right now. In this variant, you’re hit with a full-screen browser page that claims an important security update needs to be installed via Windows Update.

During the “installation” of this fake update, a hidden malicious command is copied to your clipboard. Then, you’re asked to press a specific combination of keyboard keys in this order: Windows key + R (which opens the Run window), Ctrl + V (which pastes the malicious command into the Run window), then Enter (which runs the malicious code).

If you follow the instructions as stated, the LummaC2 and Rhadamanthys malware gets installed on your system through a system of complex exploits. That malware can then be used to steal sensitive information.

It’s unclear at the time of writing how many users have been affected by the campaign, which began in early October.

Urgent Recall: Infant Formula Linked to Botulism Risk

The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is advising consumers and health care providers of an urgent recall of two specific lots of ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula due to an outbreak of infant botulism linked to the product.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall for the following two lots. Consumers are advised to verify the lot number on the bottom of their package and record the lot number to aid the ongoing investigation:

* Lot: 206VABP/251261P2 ("Use by 01 Dec 2026")

* Lot: 206VABP/251131P2 ("Use by 01 Dec 2026")

Parents and caregivers should immediately stop feeding infants the recalled ByHeart formula.
