Broadwater Highschool band club is holding a drum fundraiser on Monday, May 18- Thursday, May 21st to purchase the equipment needed for the marching band, such as matching uniforms. The fundraiser consists of old and beaten down Drums that have been sitting in closets for years, turning them into beautiful flowerpots of various sizes and colors filled with donated flowers. Band members would greatly appreciate students and the public who might buy a decorated drum. The funds will go toward outfitting the marching band during the upcoming football season.

Department: Public Works

Position: Permanent, Full- Time Administrative Assistant (40hrs/week)

Compensation: $23-27/hr

Broadwater County is seeking a highly motivated individual for a Full-Time Administrative Assistant. This position performs a variety of tasks and assignments in the Public Works Department including preparing, posting, verifying, and recording customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable for Public Works.

Excellent customer service skills are required. Accounting skill and knowledge of Black Mountain software are required. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required, associate degree in accounting is preferred. A combination of relevant experience and education is may be considered. Position is open until filled. Starting pay is $23-27 per hour, based on experience. Excellent benefits and paid vacation.

Jean Hodges and Jason Kool win School Board Seats.

In an upset in the Townsend school District #1 board trustee race, Jean Hodges,a grandmother, who is new to Townsend, has won a seat on the board.

She ran against Jason Kool and Chase Ragen for the a three year term Both Kool and Ragen are incumbents.

Hodges amassed 794 votes, Kool received 1,020 votes and Ragen received 648 votes.

Results came in from Angie Paulsen, Elections Administrator, late Tuesday night.
