Celebrating another beautiful year of life! ✨

On April 27, I had the joy of celebrating my birthday in Nashville surrounded by incredible friends who flew in from Washington, D.C. and California to make the weekend truly unforgettable. After two weeks of traveling throughout Tennessee, it was the perfect opportunity to pause, reflect, and create meaningful memories with people I cherish.

I am deeply grateful for the love, friendship, and thoughtful gestures that made this birthday so special. Here’s to a new year filled with continued growth, purpose, and extraordinary experiences. 💛

Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄

It has been a year full of change, challenge, growth, and deep reflection. In 2025 we saw important conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion evolve in workplaces and communities. Some of those conversations felt hard, others energizing, but all of them reminded me why this work matters. On The Jali Podcast we honored legacy, leadership, and voices that shape our world and I am grateful to everyone who listened, shared, and engaged with those stories.

Today I am taking a moment to rest, reflect, and focus on what is most important. I hope your day brings you peace, laughter, warmth, and connection with the people you love.

Merry Christmas from my heart to yours.

This isn’t a pretty plate but it’s a powerful one.

I’ve been doing The Red Line Challenge and meals are looking more like this lately. Hearty lentils simmered in veggie broth, tender collard greens, and my new favorite discovery: purple sweet potatoes. I had never even tried them before and now I can’t get enough.

Mary Joe always reminds me it’s all in the seasoning and she’s right. I never felt like I needed meat at every meal, but I didn’t expect to feel this full, energized, and balanced eating plant-based. No cravings, no crashes, just steady fuel.

Since starting, my blood pressure has gone down, I’m sleeping better, and I’ve lost 15 pounds. I'm also almost through my second gallon of water for the day. Small changes are adding up to something bigger.

Grateful for this journey and the guidance from The Red Line Challenge for making it feel doable, honest, and rooted in love.

In this clip from Episode 180 of , Dr. Kennedy Turner reflects on a group of leaders who saw themselves as proud representatives of the Black community—often the first, the only, and deeply aware of what that meant.

They carried purpose in every space they entered:
✔️ Representing Black excellence
✔️ Serving as role models
✔️ Challenging stereotypes with presence and power

This is a powerful reminder of the responsibility and pride that comes with being a visible leader in spaces not built with you in mind.
