As EMS providers, we must come to work with a sense of duty and compassion, knowing that every interaction could make a difference in someone's life. Behind the lights and sirens, there is a deeply human aspect to what we do.

Each day, we encounter individuals facing their own battle – whether it's a medical emergency, a traumatic event, or simply navigating life's challenges. We see the fear, the pain, and the uncertainty firsthand. In the midst of chaos, our commitment to kindness must remain unwavering.

But we must also understand the importance of extending empathy and support, not just to those we serve, but also to one another. Behind the scenes, we face our own struggles and vulnerabilities. It's in these moments that a simple act of kindness can make all the difference.

So, this week, let's remember to be kind – to our patients, to our colleagues, and to ourselves. Let's create a culture of compassion where every individual feels valued and supported. Together, we can continue to make a positive impact, one heartfelt gesture at a time. 💚

Publisher Chris Faulknor used to use Powerpoint a little more, but he's branching out. In this photo, he is showing students:

1. When you rebreathe carbon dioxide, your baseline CO2 level goes up on your capnogram.

2. As your CO2 level goes up, your exhalation phase involuntarily lengthens to regulate your levels.

Can anyone tell me what the lengthened expiratory phase respirations are called?
