A Christmas Miracle!

On November 17, a quiet, unexpected phone call changed everything......

Petra reached out with a simple question about a condo. When she learned it was already under contract, there was a pause, the kind that carries more weight than words. In that moment, Liz MacManus didn’t rush past it. She stopped. She listened. And she leaned in.

What unfolded was a woman who was overwhelmed, widowed, and running out of time. Her home had sold. She had weeks-three, including Thanksgiving, to find somewhere to live. She didn’t fully understand what had been signed, what came next, or where she would land. She just knew she was scared.

Liz met Petra at her dining room table the very next day. Not with pressure. Not with jargon. With patience, clarity, and calm. Piece by piece, Liz helped her understand the situation, regain her footing, and believe she wasn’t alone in this anymore.

The search for a new home began. They hit walls. Homes that didn’t fit. Time that kept ticking.

At the same time, Liz was quietly working through another complicated situation, an unlisted home in Interlochen. Not ready. Not perfect. But somehow… right. Single-level living. Space for family. Just blocks from Petra’s son. A long shot, but Liz trusted her instincts. On November 25, standing in the kitchen of that home, Petra said, “I want to buy it.”

On December 19, with snow on the ground and peace in her heart, Petra closed on her new home. Later that day, she asked Liz about the woman who had once lived there. When Liz shared her name, Petra paused and said, “I knew her. We worked at the same place".....And suddenly, it all made sense!

This wasn’t just about real estate. It was about care. Timing. Human connection. About an agent who saw someone in need and chose to show up-fully, compassionately, relentlessly.

She helped her find safety, dignity, and home right when she needed it most.
