This is a wonderful time of the year!!!

It's harvest time in Michigan! Our farmers will produce close to 2 billion pounds of potatoes this year. Those will include potatoes for the chip industry, fresh potatoes for the grocery store and farmers' markets, and potatoes for the canning industry.

Fun to see how one of our growers takes care of the soil to bring the best potatoes to your chips!

Iott Seed Farms utilizes a three-year rotation for potatoes and plants cover crops in the seasons in between to assure our soil remains healthy. The first year after we grow potatoes, we use wheat or rye as a cover crop. In the second year, we use an oats-radishes mix to maximize nutrients in the soil.
