I couldn't be prouder of this custom walk in closet. I designed everything to the custom wave door style to the sunglass case, designer purse cabinets, shoe racks, jewelry case, perfume storage, lighted cabinets etc. The list goes on and on...i am so grateful for the opportunity. More photos soon!

I am so excited!!! My cabinets are in for my new showroom! Almost every piece was custom designed by me and handcrafted mostly by Dutch Made, my cabinet supplier. This is just a sneak peak of the custom dog crate I designed for Nadal. It will be part of my office vignette. It is finished in walnut with gothic doors. He loves it!!

It's Wednesdays with WINK! I have been busy with a lot of fun projects and I am just loving how they are all turning out! I did put a few on my website but boy pictures don't give these spaces justice! You can look for some more coming in the next few weeks. I have a few bathroom makeovers that are unbelievable and a few really Bichin' Kitchens! Plus some furniture installs with some amazing pieces. I also have a few new projects that I am looking forward to doing. How about a project called the "Wine Bungalow" - an AirBNB in the middle of Michigan wine country!! Anyways, if you happen to pick up a BayLife Magazine, I have an article that I wrote addressing color. The article is called "Color me Happy". It's about how color can affect us emotionally. Maybe this winter we need to surround ourselves with some color! If there was a color of the year for 2020, what would it be called? Pandemic Puke Pink? Corona Crappy Coral?

It's Wednesdays with WINK!!! I have been thinking a lot about how the virus and quarantine will affect the way I design. Workplace design will certainly be affected. Material selections is more important than ever in both the workplace and residential realms. Something to think about as we move forward. Stay safe and healthy!

Facility professionals are evaluating long-term impacts from the pandemic shutdown. Some are exploring concepts and designs for the post-recovery office.

It is Wednesdays with WINK...and I am long winded!

As we all sit here social distancing in isolation due to COVID-19, what impact (if any) have you experienced relative to your lifestyle and daily needs? Forget about a wine cellar, I think a TP cellar might be the hottest trend! From bulk food/ beverage storage to the endless rolls of toilet paper that some have on hand, we seem to be doing bulk runs now more than ever and maybe storage is becoming an issue. We are probably doing a little more home cooking and relying on the growth of food delivery systems, not to mention the sanitization of everything that comes into our home! Are some of you emptying your cardboard packaged foods and opting for home storage containers? The recycling is adding up I'm sure- if they even take recycling anymore! Some of us are also homeschooling in the kitchen, setting up home offices and video conferencing with clients and cohorts trying to remain professional as you sit in your bedroom to get away from your kids only to have a naked husband walk through your frame or hearing the barking dog in the background. We have our college age kids back at home trying to navigate their lives. The Coronavirus pandemic has at least temporarily changed how we conduct our daily lives in isolation with family OR how we conduct our lives alone with no family or friends at all!!! Maybe you work in a hospital or in a public place and you are now un******ng in the garage?!? What do you wish you had that would make living under this pandemic easier?(short term and long term) Will it affect your next kitchen or bathroom design? Will you add a home office or a home gym because right about now some of our pants may be getting tight!! Maybe a designated homework/learning spot? What are your thoughts kids? Leave me a line if you wish!

It's Wednesday's with WINK! From start to finish a design for your space is a process! Many clients wonder about this design process and have a really hard time visualizing how it will look and function in the end. I try to make it as easy as possible for you. It starts with a floor plan and elevations. I also provide a 3D visual which gives the drawings life and hopefully gets you excited about your new space! Here is a project that deserves a wink which was completed this past year. Thank you Dutch Made, Inc. for making such a wonderful product that I can be proud to sell! Thank you Bill Wright and crew for the great job at installing! Remember, "Don't overthink, think Wink"

It's Wednesdays with WINK!
Where do you put your value? It's very true that you can estimate how long a cabinet or piece of furniture will last based solely on the price. People often can be more focused on what furniture looks like and what it costs and have little regard for the materials with which it’s made. Places like Walmart and Ikea haven't done consumers any service other than giving people a feeling of satisfaction that they just got a great deal. Some consumers seem to be unable to look beyond the Ikea or Walmart price and a pretty picture. A year later, that new piece finds it's way into a landfill. I believe in buying forward. Try to buy the best piece possible with quality in mind. It doesn't have to break the bank!I How fun is it to go to estate sales, second hand stores and flea markets for quality previously-owned pieces for a fraction of what it costs new?

It's Wednesday's with W.I.N.K.! Winter's can be pretty grey, especially in Northern MI. Why not add pops of color to a grey palette? Wink did just that. The walls were painted in a soft grey and a dark grey area rug grounded the space. New furnishings were chosen and mixed with newly reupholstered pieces. Don't be afraid to mix a solid with both a floral and a geometric pattern. Just keep it in the same family of colors! We mixed and matched the accent tables giving it a more eclectic look. Vibrant pieces of art helped freshen up the spaced and turned it from blah to ta-da!!!

Its Wednesday's with W.I.N.K.!
We are busy attending KBIS here in Las Vegas checking out all the latest trends in the Kitchen and Bath industry and getting some CEU's. So much walking, so much to see. One of the largest shows in the world. We need a tub like this to soak in for after the show!
