Why not a Hartman Hammond bypass??? Maybe the plans will be revived once again and actually considered.
A temporary traffic signal will be placed at Cass Road on the east side of Hartman Road at 5am on Tuesday, April 21st. Please be aware of the new traffic pattern this creates, and use precaution on this detour. We are hopeful this will help alleviate some of the congestion at that intersection for drivers. The equipment will be the "knock down" temporary light that you traditionally see used at road construction projects.
On the west side of Hartman, at U.S. 31 South, we are thankful to our partners at MDOT for a speedy approval to install a temporary light there as well. Due to the size of the highway (5 lanes), we are unable to use the same type of knock down equipment that we can on a small intersection like Cass. Our fantastic signal department has been hard at work to create a signal that is suitable to be placed at an intersection that large. This will take a little more time as they finish fabrication of the equipment and we ask for your patience as that work is completed. We are hopeful to have that up in the very near future.
Until then, please use caution as we navigate these new traffic patterns while we begin the process to design and construct the new Beitner crossing. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
