Crosby picking some flowers for his Mom! He didn’t tell me what he was doing until I saw him out there. Haha he heard me saying we needed to thin the black eyed Susan’s out. The problem with perennials is they pop before the annuals. :) haha 😆Thankful for a son that listens and works hard at the age of 6 and is always thinking about his Momma!

It’s that time of year when our flower farm opens and we have fun things going on. Our most fun party of the season is our fairy party! Bring your girls, Moms, Aunts, Dads, sisters and friends. 5 days apart. 39194729482949292 inches of rain later and some crazy 90mph winds and we still have some beautiful flowers coming. The bummer of perennials is that they are blooming before everything else! That’s the name of the game though. Still looking forward to our opening day coming here in less than one month. :)

This rain has been amazing for our flowers! So thankful for the rain! Now add this heat the next 5-6 days and we will be growing more and more each day! Getting closer and closer to being able to share the field with all of our friends. We’re getting so excited!

When your drip irrigation pieces have broken, and you’re still waiting for new ones to get here and nobody has them in stock you have to water by hand! Started at 5:30am! I love listening to the birds wake up! Today my bird app heard 23 different species while I was watering! What a beautiful morning. Works a little longer and harder without the irrigation working correctly but I find calmness in the little things like listening to all of the birds! Things in life might not go as planned but it’s what ya make out of it! Smile today folks it’s probably not really that bad!

Dead heading flowers now creates more stems which creates more flowers and sends the nutrients back to the roots to establish the plant better! It’s sad, but a must!

The first few blooms in the field from our perennials! Some Pin Cushion flowers and some Black Eyed Susan’s. So fun watching all of the hard work slowly come to life in color instead of just green!!! Soon we will have thousands and thousands of plants blooming! I can’t wait! My favorite thing to do is wake up early and watch the pollinators do what they do once the flowers are up and enjoy some coffee! Looking forward to those mornings!
