— TUESDAY LIFER SPOTLIGHT —

In today's LIFER SPOTLIGHT post, we have a "Cachara" (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum) that I caught earlier this year in Cáceres, Mato Grosso, Brazil, on June 25th. This was my 756th Lifer.

Fun fact of the day: The "Cachara" or "Sorubim-cachara" is a prized fish in Brazil for human consumption. According to the "Ribeirinhos" — the traditional river-dwelling folks who live along the banks of the major rivers in the Pantanal and Amazon — it is a fish with a lot of SUCCULENT, BONELESS meat.

The Lifer in the photo was released back to the Paraguay River to live another day; however, the Inner Circle and I did experience some FRIED PSEUDOPLATYSTOMA in the city of Anastácio in Mato Grosso do Sul. We ordered a plate of "Pintado á Milanesa" in the "Restaurante Amarelinho:" a place known for serving not only the "Natural Vi**ra of the Pantanal" (a.k.a. Piranha stew), but also many different species of FRIED FISH. Dare I say — both of them were DELICIOUS.

Anyways... The Cachara was one of my last Lifers from the city of Cáceres in the state of Mato Grosso. I caught it during the LAST DAY of OPERATION JUNGLE FISHFARE (a.k.a. my Lifelisting trip throughout the Brazilian Pantanal) on a live "Sardinha" (Triportheus nematurus) on a Gamakatsu circle hook. Heh.

Pretty cool fish, huh?! I can't wait to go back to Brazil in 2027 for my next Lifelisting operation down there!

As for me...

Today, I am sharing a photo of a BEAUTIFUL Pumpkinseed (Lepomis gibbosus) that I caught from the Manayunk Canal earlier this week. It came up on an Eurotackle 1/7 oz. I-Spinner, Shad color.

You can watch the full fishing session on my YouTube Channel:
https://youtu.be/sQgXwlzN6IM

The main theme of the video was to explore and fish the Manayunk Canal AFTER they opened the lock there last year (June 13th, 2025).

🚨 NEW PRODUCT RELEASE 🚨
Eurotackle just released its 100% Fluorocarbon line this past Friday.
If interested, you can get it via the link below:

Even before its release, I tested this line in 6lbs test for a week or so. I shot two YouTube videos using it:
Schuylkill River session: https://youtu.be/3VxQq5h1mAo
D&R Canal session: https://youtu.be/6xVIrU8RB2w

I was so impressed with the line that I have already replaced all my Sunline FC Sniper. The Eurotackle 100% Fluorocarbon line is VERY SMOOTH, not to mention that it has GREAT CASTABILITY on ultra-light, BFS and lighter setups. With my signature baits (i.e., 1" EPF Swim, 1.2" EPF Grub, 1.3" EPF Minnow) and the Eurotackle Soft-lock Tungsten jigs, even the 1/32 oz. one can go pretty far!

This week, I am taking this line to the NJ salt for some more action! Stay tuned, I will be dropping those videos beginning this THURSDAY, 08/27!

P.s. if you decide to purchase the line, don't forget to use PROMOCODE "extremephillyfishing" during checkout for 10% off your entire order!

Today, I am sharing a photo of a recent Largemouth Black Bass that I caught at the D&R Canal in West Trenton, NJ. I would like to highlight that this was my FIRST BASS in YEARS on a TOPWATER LURE. Heh.

You can watch the full fishing session on my YouTube Channel:

It was only a 1.5lber, but it was a memorable catch!!! Though, next time, I hope it is a 5lber. Heh.

What is your catch this week about?! Post it below and share your story with us!

After being sick for almost the entire month of July, I am finally in shape to go out and do some fishing (pain scale: 2/10). I am leaving the link here to the first video that I shot post illness! It has more than 10 species of fish in it and, as always, some hole lessons in it as well. 😉 Enjoy!

Thank you for all the love and support, as always!

SUNDAY SPECIES APPRECIATION POST...!!!
Post below a PHOTO of one of your RECENT CATCHES and brag about it!!!

Today, I am sharing a photo of a recent LIFER that I caught in Chicago, Illinois. It was a part of the "Operation Salty Glizzy" that I did for the open public via IG stories on my main Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/extremephillyfishing_lifelists/).

The name of the Operation was "Salty Glizzy" due to two main reasons: (1) we had some SALTY hot dogs, Chicago-style, while I was there and (2) we explored and fished the SALT CREEK. As a matter of fact, both my LIFER Hornyhead Chub (Nocomis biguttatus — photo below) and Rosyface Shiner (Notropis rubellus) came from there!

Pretty cool fish, huh? Do pay extra attention to the tiny cute red spot behind its eye, on the operculum, which is a signature identifier for this species. The fact that the fish has tubercles in its head means that this sample was a spawning MALE. Only males of the Nocomis genus have tubercles on their heads.

But anyways... What is your catch this week about?! Post it below and share your story with us!

How many of the species BELOW are you familiar with?!
I did my FIRST FISHING SESSION in quite a while TODAY. I headed to the Upper Pennypack Creek for some Multi-species fishing. I ended up catching 11 different species in 3 hours or so.

The pain due to my illness is BEARABLE now. 2/10 on the pain scale. And I have lost 9 lbs since the last video on the YT Channel. So, ONE STEP AT A TIME, folks!!!

Stay tuned... hopefully I will have a YouTube video ready for you all by 4 p.m. EST tomorrow!
