STARTING DEC. 2nd --- Attention Wheeling motorists traveling
Rte 40 and Washington Ave. 🚧🛑❌

Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 2, the Washington Avenue Bridge, which spans Big Wheeling Creek in the Pleasanton Neighborhood, will close to all traffic.

Motorists must use National Road/US 40 as a detour to I-70 during the year-long closure.

❄️WHAT - This is an all snow event for most of the area as temperatures remain cold. Generally 3 to 5 inches is expected.

There are two exceptions to this:
1) In the Mon Valley southeast of Pittsburgh through Morgantown, where rain may mix in with snow Tuesday morning, lowering totals (1-2 inches).
2) Across the Laurels and Allegheny mountains where snow may changeover to freezing rain for a period, causing a light glaze of ice.

❄️WHEN - Snow will arrive tonight after midnight. Heaviest snow is expected roughly between 4-8 AM. **This will impact the Tuesday morning commute!** Widespread snow should rapidly end late morning, with lingering showers diminishing through the afternoon.

⚠️ A heads up for those on the roads tonight. Road temperatures are cooling with sunset, and any wet spots from melting snow today are at risk of freezing over and creating hazardous travel conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses. Take it slow tonight if you encounter any areas that appear wet as they may be icy.
