Single braids
Step-by-step guide

1. Wash & Prep Hair
• Start with clean, detangled, and completely dry hair.

✅ 2. Section the Hair
• Use a rat-tail comb to part your hair into four large sections (like a cross).
• Clip away the three sections you’re not working on.

✅ 3. Create the First Part
• Choose a section and make a small, square (or triangle) part for your first braid.
• The size depends on how thick you want the braids to be.
• Clip the rest of the hair away to keep it neat.

✅ 4. Detangle and Add Product
• Detangle the small section with a brush or comb.
• Apply a bit of Jam or edge control to the roots for a sleek look (optional).

✅ 5. Start Braiding
• Split the sectioned hair into three equal strands.
• Begin a regular three-strand braid:
◦ Cross the right strand over the middle
◦ Then the left over the new middle
◦ Repeat this pattern down the length of the hair
• Keep the braid tight at the root and consistent in tension.

✅ 6. Add Extensions
If you’re adding extensions:
• Fold the extension hair in half.
• Place it against your natural hair and begin braiding by feeding in your hair with the extensions.
• Braid all the way down.
• You can dip the ends in hot water to seal them (for synthetic hair only).

✅ 7. Secure the End
• Braid to the end of the hair.

✅ 8. Repeat
• Continue parting and braiding the rest of your hair section by section.
• Try to keep the parts even and the braid tension consistent.

✅ 9. Final Touches
• Trim stray hairs if needed.
• Apply mousse or braid spray for shine and frizz control.

Single Braids
I recently did a set of single braids for a client, and they turned out absolutely stunning! Each braid was neat, uniform, and laid perfectly and giving a flawless, clean finish. The length was just right, not too long or short, which really complemented her overall look.

Pixie Braids
Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Prep the Natural Hair
• Start with clean, washed, and fully dried hair.
• Detangle thoroughly using a wide-tooth comb.

Step 2: Section the Hair
• Use a rat-tail comb to create a clean part from ear to ear to start at the back.
• Clip the rest of the hair out of the way.
• Decide on your braid size: Pixie braids are typically very small, so part small, consistent sections.
• Keep parts neat and straight—this is key for a polished look.

Step 3: Add Braiding Hair (if desired)
• For added length or volume, feed in braiding hair using the pinch-and-pull method.
• Grab a small piece of braiding hair, loop it around the natural strand, and start braiding.
• Maintain even tension to avoid scalp strain.

Step 4: Braid to the Ends
• Braid each section tightly and all the way down.
• For synthetic hair, you can trim flyaways and seal the ends with a straightener machine.

Step 5: Final Touches
• Go over the scalp with a light oil or braid sheen spray to soothe any tightness.
• Trim any stray hairs or uneven braids for a clean finish.
