On Friday, October 10th, the Troy Trojans celebrated their homecoming in spectacular fashion, decimating the North Penn-Mansfield Panthers 58-10.
The night kicked off with the community lining the streets for the homecoming parade, which wound its way down to Alparon Park. Once the stadium filled, the Trojans quickly took control of the game.
Just minutes in, Kael Millard ripped through the defense on an outside seam, setting up a Gavin Lykon-Leffler extra point—Troy led 7-0. North Penn-Mansfield answered with a big play: Peyton Greene faked a pitch to Luke Kreger, who launched a pass to Colton Pellett for a touchdown, tying the game 7-7.
Troy responded with relentless force. Mason Smith’s quarterback keeper powered down the sideline for a score, and Brendan Gilliland followed a perfectly blocked middle path to put Troy ahead by two touchdowns. Smith then connected with Josiah Pesesky for another touchdown, giving Troy a 28-7 lead early in the second quarter.
The Trojans weren’t done. A clever trick play involving Gilliland, Spencer Martin, and Smith set up a field goal, pushing the lead to 31-7. Troy scored again before halftime, heading to the locker room with a commanding 38-7 advantage.
At halftime, the homecoming court was presented: Chase Seymour was crowned king, with Paige Mattikonis taking queen.
The second half saw Troy continue their dominance, closing out the night with a decisive 58-10 victory. Between the parade, the coronation, and the crushing win on the field, Troy’s homecoming was a night to remember.
