I have been making the world a pretty place since 2002 and made a huge step in my career March 1st, 2020, by opening up Color Vibe Salon. No matter how many years I have stood behind the chair my passion for the hair world continues to grow daily, but most importantly the need to want to provide the best experience for anyone that lets me get my hands all up in their hair! Although I am skilled in

many areas my favorite things to create are: first and foremost, healthy hair- No matter what you do to your hair if it isn't healthy then it isn't going to matter what you do cut and color wise! Honey/Sun Kissed/Warm/Natural blondes, Flawless grey blending/coverage, Rich brunettes and gorgeous reds (it's all about that shine), Short textured cuts and Long layered cuts with body/movement. I am super family oriented and love hanging with my family, which includes my high school sweetheart (we reconnected 10 years ago) our two rambunctious kiddos that are 5 and 9 as well as my rescue fur kids consisting of two cats and one dog. When I'm not working behind the chair and getting some "free" time from mommy hood, you can find me volunteering with a non-profit!! I have been a part of the animal rescue community for over 12 years now! Don't let that fool you though since I’m definitely a people person and very much a team player. I thrive on helping others see the best in themselves.

“Cutting your hair makes it grow faster” — fact or fiction? ✂️

Trimming your hair doesn’t technically speed up growth — growth happens at the scalp, not at the ends.

But here’s the real truth: If you want longer, stronger, healthier hair, regular trims are a must.

This is why I customize every haircut to preserve length, prevent split ends from traveling up the strand, and keep your ends looking fresh + full.

When you skip trims, those little splits keep splitting — which leads to breakage… and that’s what actually keeps your hair from getting longer.

So no, cutting your hair doesn’t make it grow faster…But not cutting it? That’s what truly holds it back.

• Start with fully dry hair and a light volume or texture product for grip.

• Use a 1” curling iron or wand to get soft bends instead of tight curls.

• Leave the ends out (about 1 inch) when curling — that’s what creates the relaxed, beachy vibe.

• Alternate curl directions (away, then toward) to keep the waves natural and undone.

• Finish with a texture spray or light hairspray for airy volume and long-lasting waves without stiffness.

Here’s how to get a glassy finish without causing damage:

✔️ Always start with a heat protectant

✔️ Work in thin sections so 1–2 passes is enough

✔️ Keep your iron between 300–350° for most hair types

✔️ Use slow, controlled passes instead of cranking up the temp

✔️ Finish with a lightweight serum for that soft shine

Small acts create big change — inside and outside the salon.

Yesterday looked like helping local community cats get to and from their spay/neuter appointments, picking up Angel Tree tags, volunteering at Our Farm Sanctuary, picking up my kids from school, and setting up recovery for two cats resting safely for the night.

Nothing fancy. Just showing up where I can, when I can.

At Color Vibe Salon we believe in compassion, community, and doing our part to make life a little brighter — for people and for the voiceless.

Hiiii, Shannon here!! Just wanted to give a little 411 on who your girl is.

I have been doing my thing in the hair world professionally since 2002 and currently in the process of making my dream come true of becoming a salon owner- EKKK!

Over the years I have been blessed to work at some of the best salons that the Miami Valley area has to offer as well as with some of the best hairdressers in Ohio. Which two of those hairdressers just happen to be my besties!

I am the type of person that what you see is what you get and I’m as real as they come.
