Ok update for tomorrow (Friday) tornado perimeters are increasing. All along I 35 and east in Texas now has a significantly higher risk for tornadoes now. This could change as the system changes its speed. If you do not have a weather radio app on your phone, go to your app store and download one. I use (Weather radio) on Android its a red logo with a alert icon in it. Many of the apps are good on there. I'll be doing a more in depth analysis through this evening and tomorrow as this progresses. A moderate risk could be issued by the NWS from what I've seen so far but a lot of factors are in play.

Want to be sure you get warned of a Tornado in your area? Sirens are meant for people outside. If you're indoors you need another warning system. Having a weather radio is the answer. They even make a phone app. EVERY Storm Chaser i know recommends the app with the red box. Spend $5 bucks and invest in your safety.

Chase season is starting late for us this spring, but we are entering the field with new and upgraded equipment to handle the needs of this chase season. Tuesday could possibly bring a significant severe weather event across the central plains from North Texas to Kansas with threats including damaging winds, hail and tornadoes. We are looking at several target areas at this time, but we will have a more defined location as we decipher newer higher resolution model data as it becomes available this weekend. We will post a chase update tomorrow.

A weak cold front is moving into Central Texas this morning and has produced a spectacular set of gravity waves, extending from Gainesville, TX southwest to near Del Rio, TX. These waves will have little to no impact on our weather, but they sure look nice on the visible satellite, indicated by the lines of clouds along and behind the cold front. Take a look at the image from this morning.

What a sight the JMA satellite Himawari-8 caught this morning. It observed the exact time of the Fall Equinox. It also had a very good sight of the sunset over Tropical Storm Dujuan in the Western Pacific Ocean.
