Who wants to join me Tuesday evening to say THANK YOU?? Keep reading.

One of the best things I've ever experienced was on a full-size cruise ship in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

When we pulled into port in the AM, a lively raucous marching band met the ship. And when we were preparing to leave the port in the PM, there was a single bagpiper playing on the dock.

But not only that... Every parking spot in the large lot was filled, and the roads around the port were crammed with cars. We didn't know what was happening.

As the ship blew it's horns signifying that we were underway, all the cars started flashing their headlights and honking their horns, people waving...

It was the most amazing experience ever. And I want to recreate it, to some extent, for our healthcare and first responders here in Troy.

Looking to do this at both hospitals, but starting at KHN-Troy Hospital. Hospital admin. is aware and onboard.

☛ WHEN: Tuesday, April 14, 2020
☛ TIME: 8:00 PM (when your cell phone says 8:00 PM, this is when everybody should start flashing your headlights and honking your horns and waving). STAY IN YOUR CARS!!

**Meet in the KHN-Troy Hospital parking lots BEFORE 8:00 PM - between 7:30 and 7:45 PM and turn your headlights off. Fill in the parking spaces and point your vehicles so that they are facing the hospital. There are three parking lots around the hospital. STAY IN YOUR CARS!!

If you can't find a spot in one of the parking lots, stay in the curb lane and drive around the hospital on Main, Elm, Water and Adams.

☛ DONE & OVER: 8:10 PM (please disperse back to your homes carefully and quietly)

Update from DP&L

Update on DP&L’s COVID-19 Response

We put safety first – always.
DP&L cares about our communities and recognizes the impact and stress COVID-19 is causing in people’s daily lives. We are determined to continue delivering the reliable power you rely on, while helping to protect the health and safety of our people, neighbors and community.

Below, please find the latest information on how DP&L is responding to the situation. DP&L recommends that customers take safety precautions and follow guidance from the CDC and Ohio Department of Health. We will continue to publish information on this page as the situation evolves. You can also follow DP&L on Twitter and Facebook.

DP&L will not disconnect any customer’s service for non-payment, in order to give customers experiencing financial hardship extra time to make payments. We will continue to read meters and send bills. Customers should pay what they can to avoid building up a large balance that will be difficult to pay off later.
DP&L has directed employees who are not involved with power delivery or other critical functions to work from home, where possible.
DP&L technicians will continue to respond to power outages and other emergencies.
Company technicians will continue to complete service orders – such as new electric connections and requested disconnections.
If technicians need to interact with customers in-person, such as in an emergency, they will follow the U.S. Centers for Disease Control’s safety guidelines, including social distancing.
Services that are not urgent or time-sensitive, but require in-person customer contact by DP&L employees or contractors, will be rescheduled. We will contact customers to reschedule appointments, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.
DP&L’s customer service team is available to serve customers by phone. We anticipate increased call center demand and request that customers consider using self-service service options when possible.
Customers can perform nearly all customer service functions online and through DP&L’s automated voice phone system.

Residential customers call 800-433-8500
Business customers call 800-253-5801
Be aware of scammers, who continue to target customers, threatening disconnection of service and asking for immediate payment over the phone. DP&L never asks for personal information over the phone or demands payment using a specific method, such as pre-paid debit, or “Green Dot” cards.

It appears your web browser is not using JavaScript. Without it, some features of MyDP&L won’t work properly, including making a payment and viewing your bill. Please adjust the settings in your browser to make sure JavaScript is turned on.

Light snow overnight has kept some side roads and untreated roadways snow/ice covered this morning while interstates are mostly wet. Cold temperatures and blowing snow may keep rural roads slick as well. Use caution and plan some extra time for your morning commute. Stay safe!

The first of several new Tipp City Police Department efforts to combat property crime statistics starts today. We are collaborating with Ring (the doorbell camera company) to share information with our citizens. Five of our officers recently received training on the program. Ring offers an app called Neighbors to help connect citizens with one another and law enforcement. The app is free, and you do not need to own a Ring device to use the app.
You can even post photos and video from other brands of cameras (Arlo, Blink, Nest, etc...) on the app to share with other citizens and us. If you own a Ring device, the police department can also send requests for video. If there is a criminal incident in your area, and you have captured something of interest, we would be grateful for the assistance.
Rightfully, some people have expressed privacy concerns about law enforcement obtaining their video. However, we can only see what citizens provide. The police department will not have access to your cameras.
For more information on the app, follow the link below.
