After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Detroit Pagan Pride this year.
Many of our close friends are aware that my family has been navigating several significant challenges behind the scenes. If you don't know the details, please know that I appreciate your understanding and respect for our privacy. If you have questions or concerns, you're welcome to reach out to me privately.
One thing this experience has reinforced is that larger community events cannot be sustained by just a handful of people. If we want to continue having events like Pagan Pride—and expand opportunities for the Pagan community in southeast Michigan—we need more volunteers who are willing to help plan, organize, and run them.
The good news is that you don't need previous event experience. We can provide training and guidance; what we need most are people who are willing to contribute their time and energy.
We have ideas and plans for several community events throughout the year, but we simply don't have enough people to make them happen.
If you'd like to be part of building a stronger Pagan community in southeast Michigan, please leave a comment or send me a private message. I'll invite you to join the planning chat on our discord server, where you can learn more about the volunteer opportunities and help shape future events.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. We truly appreciate this community, and we want to be clear this is a pause—not an ending.
