What are we doing to our children?

We push them to perform before they are ready, measuring their worth by achievements instead of honoring their pace. We expect them to be everything at once (e.g. academic, social, athletic, artistic), forgetting that childhood was never meant to be a competition.

What children truly need is not more pressure, but more play. They need space to wonder, freedom to connect, and time to grow into themselves without hurry.

The greatest danger to childhood is not falling behind, but being forced to outgrow it too soon. If we want children to flourish, we must protect their right to simply be children.

Join Troy's longest running children's theater today! Now in our 36th year!

Registration is now open for the Young Actors Guild’s 16th Biennial Production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!

Did you know? In 1995, YAG's children's choir was chosen to perform in Joseph with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s company at Proctor’s Theater. Since then, Joseph has become YAG’s beloved biennial tradition!

The mission of the Young Actors Guild is to encourage a child’s self-discovery, enhance their self-expression, stimulate their imagination and develop strong character. This is achieved by incorporating the highest ethical, moral, technical and artistic standards into a supportive community-based environment.

What’s Included:

-Professional instruction in music, acting, and dance
-Engaging rehearsals that build confidence and collaboration
-A full-scale production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Don’t miss your chance to be part of the tradition!
