Sad to hear Sly Stone has died. He struggled with addiction, financial mismanagement and was a complicated artist to love. There is no funk like this though - one of the absolute best bass lines ever. Turn it up - RIP Sly.

Our music community is mourning once again. Condolences to family, friends, fans, and associates of Dave Shapiro, Sound Talent Group and Velocity Records. He and Daniel Williams, former drummer for The Devil Wears Prada were passengers on a San Diego flight that crashed early Thursday morning. There are still unidentified victims of the crash. Our hearts are with you all.

I'm absolutely saddened by the loss of Michael Teach. I met Michael way back in the day before Fearless Radio and before his amazing work with Chicago Acoustic Underground. He helped 100's of artists through CAU and his seemingly endless energy and love of music will be missed. our prayers are with Michael's loved ones and family at this time.
